I was wondering what your typical session looks like?
I have a stress test live set and I’m barely able to have 16 tracks of wavetable with 3 osc and 8 voice shimmer unison run at 512. At 256 it drops to 7.
Would you be willing to run the stress test to compare?
My 16” is full spec i9 with 2Tb.

Re: Backpack Suggestions?
http://missionworkshop.com/products/bags/backpacks/ I have a Vandal and an Arkiv R6 field pack. Can't recommend them enough. While both have room for Laptop and Maschine, I would probably sugest a large Arkiv Field Pack for most. I have a small one because the Vandal is huge, but the Arkiv has a spe...

Built In Soundcard and speakers & Compression
I've always like lots of compression in my music, from French house (Daft Punk, Para One) to Swedish Techno (Drumcode, SVEK), to LA style beats and Bass music (FlyLo) and everything in between. I like the pump, side-chained, softknee, glued, NY Style, whatever word you want to use to describe variou...

Re: Best VSTs
If you are new to Live and have suite, learn the instruments and effects in Live first. Concentrate on the following FIRST: Synthesis: 1. Subtractive Synthesis with Analog 2. FM synthesis with Operator Sampling 1. Simpler 2. Sampler 3. Drum Racks Effects 1. Compressor 2. Gate 3. EQ 4. Reverb 5. Dela...

Re: self discovery
I think if you had said outside instead of out it would have been more clear. Good for you though! :) Aha - I see. What I mean is I stopped thinking about the process, analyzing, criticizing, and just went with my feelings and where the music took itself. Almost like the music made itself, actually...

Last night I had one of those moments. I was sitting outside with the laptop, fired up Live, loaded a simple sinewave synth and just jammed on the keyboard. Used the built in speakers. Just exploring having fun. Then Everything clicked. And it all flowed out, like I was really using my plugins for t...

Strange CPU problems in Live 8 - PLEASE HELP
Hi! I've noticed some strange behavior in Live. 1. I compose a track. It's all good. Meter barely hits 70% 2. After a while, cpu begins to spike. 3. After restart and reboot - track unplayable. Happens EVERY TRACK. Very frustrating. Full, legitimate install of Live 8 suite. Using Operator, Reaktor, ...

Re: Best Live Device to Eliminate Hiss on Audio Recording
Definitely Izotope RX2. I used the Advanced version to process audio for video and it removed hiss (and clipping!) very effectively while retaining sonic quaity.

I agree the Animoog is sensational. One of the most inspiring synths I've ever played.

Re: Live 8 Instruments as good as Native Instruments FM8, Massiv
After years of using softsynths and seeing their development, I now use the following: 1. Reaktor 2. Aalto 3. Xils-lab Xils3 4. Korg Legacy Analog Collection 5. Audio Damage Phosphor However, I do an incredible amount of sound design within Live itself using Sampler, Racks, and Routing signals. Over...
