Re: Massive CPU Usage on Live 8

I have occassionally had the same behavior on previous projects when moving from one version of LIVE to the next. Sometimes old projects don't translate into the new environment well. I think you will find if you create a new project the problem will go away. Code changes happen, that's life in the ...

Very mild here in San Francisco. I'm on a hill above Glen Park area and almost did not notice it. The clock was 8:05pm. Earthquakes are fun...unless your on a bridge.

poor long suffering animal. the only thing worse than cheese on your face is having your picture taken with cheese on your face. and since the original question in 2002 it occurs to me you can right click the clip and choose crop sample as well.

About the same as other interfaces I've used. I had a motu 828 before and they both start breaking up around 98 samples. On large projects you can use direct monitoring if you start getting hiccups while monitoring through the software. I record mainly guitar & bass with drums so your mileage ma...

Its a gamble. I did not get Applecare with my iMac and the hard drive failed after 18 months. So I replaced it with a western digital drive for $99. which is less than I would have paid for Applecare. No trouble since. I say get the new iMac. But I'm waiting for Leopard to be included.

Works great for me. I have not had the problems others have reported on the Mackie site regarding the drivers. Works great with OSX and Vista for me. Most important it sounds beautiful. The Onyx preamps are very good quality. The dsp mixer software is very logical in its layout. I've been very happy.

I have heard good things about the Fireface. I have owned MOTU and would not buy another. I did not expect to hear a difference with the Mackie, so I was really surprised the preamps could make such a difference. You said you want "loud & proud" so I can speak for the Mackie, don't kno...

Hi Jesso, Just went through searching for a new interface myself. I've been using a MOTU 828 and recently needed more mic pres for on-site recording jobs. I looked at everything you mentioned and more. After much obsessive ponderings and comparisons I chose the Mackie Onyx 400F. I liked the 4 mic pr...

I have Comcast and tonight my speed is avg. 8Mbps. Comcast just rolled out their speed boost technology which is supposed to allocate surplus bandwidth to users on an "as needed" basis. So if you click on a large download you can get up to twice your normal speed if you need it. Sort of li...

You can do it if you have a Mac. Sometimes I like to use my PodXT as the input device and my Motu as the Output. Works great in OSX.
