Am I nuts? . . . I Can't believe you haven't figured out how to make this possible for Mac OSX yet?!!??

I have solved the issue mentioned below. . . it seems the problem was that I had inadvertently made a setting in the control surfaces area of the remote control surfaces option of the midi/sync preferences. When I changed the setting back to "none" all seems to now be working well. :)
