I could easily build a Nehalem based PC computer that could run MacOSX flawlessly for less than half of what you payed for a mac pro. I mean $2500 for 3gb of ram and an xeon. That's outrageous. 1 640gb hard drive. I could raid 0 2 750gb with 2 1tb's in raid 1 for that price. Just get a nehalem base...

PS. One thing to note when installing a 7200 rpm drive in a Macbook is that the heat will increase which will cause the fan to turn on more frequently. We have a 7200 rpm drive in my wife's MacBook, and when doing any audio or video work for more than about 10 minutes, the fan stays on pretty much ...

Umm no. The new 7200 rpm laptop drives actually produce less heat and less power than the that old stinker you have in your mac book.

That's funny(were you being sarcastic?). no i leave XP computers running for months with no ill effects (except wasting electricity, haha) Do you leave them running programs constantly all the time? Your hard drive is killing your performance hands down. Please go to www.newegg.com and get a western digital scorpio black 7200 rpm drive. I guarantee much better performance
