Are you really surprised..? I have a MBP with 8 gigs (2011 MBP) and it takes roughly 2-3 minutes to get an empty template from clicking on the dock to an open window. Add another 2 minutes to load a set. Using Live 64 bit 9.1.

the gold plated edition is only a few weeks further away, why not just wait for that?

i demo'd it and then took the plunge yesterday.. it's way too early to give it a thumbs up or down but so far i like it. The start-up time is longer though, which I dislike, greatly.

It's pretty easy to understand that they don't want to release dual-monitor support until Live 10 or 11, or 12.

I won't be upgrading anything but the sequencer.. i e-mailed them but never got a response..

Say you purchase Live 9, the sequencer only, but you own Live 8 Suite - do those instruments just not get updated to their newest version and still get retained in Live 9?

I'd like some clarification on that.

At least Apple is more transparent - they just charge $200 for each full version of Logic Pro, no tiered pricing. Upgrade if you want, but it'll cost everyone the same.. Can't really screw that up.

Here's what most of us poor musicians plan on doing - waiting. Ableton will eventually drop the price to upgrade for a short time or do something to make it worth it. Unfortunately - that could be a full calendar year from today.. or more.

I think we all understand that you guys spent a lot of time and money into Live 9 and Push, but you are charging more to the wrong people (long term customers). I've easily cracked over $1k in upgrades since purchasing Live in 2005. Just letting you know that we would appreciate a better, clearer ex...

What's wack is that if I upgrade to Live 9, all the instruments I paid for in Suite 8 won't come with me.

I got quoted $300 still too much..
