Just got a Prophet 08 and a DX7 mk2 for 1600 Canadian off of craigslist.
I just put the Prophet on my coffee table while I watch TV and say to myself "finally got that analog poly synth...I am complete"
does anyone else do this?

Re: TR-8 Midi clock
actually this is kind of interesting and possibly a cool feature request. seems like there is an explosion of good hardware out there with sequencers. why not have clips that send transport control messages over midi? you could fire a clip that sends clock to maybe an octatrack in a live set...then ...

Re: Buying new gear what happens to your old gear?
i remember after the chemical brothers released "exit planet dust" an interviewer was lamenting about how they had a s1100 sampler(or other similar) used as a doorstop. back then i thought (indignantly) "WTF! how could someone treat something so full of creative potential so horribly!...

Kind of ot, but the only way to make money nowadays is to separate your tracks into its parts and start a label up by selling your loops.
I would be interested to know the difference of sales on beatport between lot49 records and loop49

Re: Leonard Bernstein - What is Jazz?
Nice find! I can dig it.
Sometimes it's nice to step out and listen to something totally different and appreciate it for what it is.
Actually, kind of reminds me of old Tex Avery cartoons.
Gonna go hit up some Tex Avery

omfg. The falling prices and ultimate energy independence are the greatest things to happen in the USA in God Knows How Long. The fuckwits who spell economic doom and gloom or whatever the fuck as a result of low gas prices clearly are: 1. Typing that shit on their $3000 MacBook Pro whilst sippling...

Re: Elektron Analog Rytm
have the week off and mine is coming tomorrow or the next day.
had to order direct from the website as there are none here in vancouver and all the shops had no idea when they were coming in.
octatrack is a fantasic(but quirky) machine and am looking forward to the AR
stoked!
