Re: Guitarists using Ableton... a quesiton
Some people really enjoy the Keith McMillan controllers https://www.keithmcmillen.com/products/softstep/ My local store suggested this as well - but also told me a lot of the units are returned. Claims guitarists express concern about the "soft" part of the pedal, that it's too unfamiliar...

Re: Guitarists using Ableton... a quesiton
The midi pedal option for guitar works well if you are proficient at midi cc programming, there are resources and tutorials specifically for pedals such as the behringer http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FCB1010. My local music store recommended the 1010 - but I'm NOT proficient at this at all...

Thanks. Do you have any idea what's the most recommended (and easiest) solution to use pedals to control live (for guitarists).Tarekith wrote:Definitely doable, especially with the Amp and Cabinet plug ins it comes with. On their own not my favorite, but they work good together.

Guitarists using Ableton... a quesiton
Is there anyone using Live on it's own, without any other plug-ins, as their main setup. If so, I'd love to hear more about your setup - which Live plug-ins you're using to create your tones/sounds. My goal is to use Live - it's looper and other effects - to compose ambient/shoegaze type of stuff. I...

Re: Ableton as a Guitar Effects Unit - suggestions?
IMO the FCB is a tank piece of shit. it's weird to program, heavy and clunky. I have one and never liked it. the SoftStep looks to be loads better and from what I can tell it killed the FCB. I keep hearing this, hence my reluctance to go this route. I went back to a real amp and love it. Arrrrggghh...

Ableton as a Guitar Effects Unit - suggestions?
I own Guitar Rig. I own an X-Station. Neither provide me with a simple solution to use Ableton as my sequencer, sampler, looper and guitar effects until. I'm looking for a (simple) setup - audio/midi interface and pedal board. Does anything like this exist? If not, what equipment are you guitarists ...

Guitar Synth & Ableton
I'm a simple songwriter looking to trigger Ableton (MIDI) instruments with a guitar synth. I'm thinking that the Roland GR20 is my best bet. Is anyone doing this? If so, is it difficult to setup? Thanks.
I'm open to any other (easy) solutions.
Thanks.

Anyhow, I still use 3 to be able to consistently delete flubbed loops, and I hope they get it right (again) in 6. Ryan...your a kind gentleman to provide all this info. And perhaps I'm the only one, but your msgs make the process sound quite involved. If anyone's willing to make a vid of the setup,...

I'd have to respectfully disagree. Ryan...you've sold me on using Live/Guitar as a match made in heaven. Now would you be able to...pretty, pretty please, post a vid/tutorial of this method. If not Ryan, would anybody else be willing to post a vid or graphic description of how this works (a la Romp...

 History's a wonderful thing....read some. By this thread, one would think a bunch of rich kike Jews descened upon poor, hapless Arabs...and started looting and raping. Once again, don't look to musicians for anything resembling historical accuracy. Oh god, get a clue. Back your shit up or ju...
