You may also want to try running in Rosetta and see if that changes things. For whatever reason, I get tons of performance weirdness and hiccups when I'm in native M1 mode, that go away when running in Rosetta, and the performance is still significantly better on my M1 in Rosetta than on the maxed o...

Re: Send bang on track change - "Setting the Id cannot be triggered by notifications. you will need to defer your respon
As soon as I posted this I had the idea, "why not just trigger the code path to choose the track every time the dial changes?" I updated that to send the bang, and it appears to be working as expected, but it feels wasteful to recalculate that value every time I move the dial. Is that some...

Send bang on track change - "Setting the Id cannot be triggered by notifications. you will need to defer your response"
I have created a device that allows a MIDI-mappable dial to be used to trigger clips on its respective track. It gets the current track number, counts the number of clips in that track, then uses that value to set the number of clips to trigger, interpolating/scaling the MIDI input value to match th...

Holy moly, at first glance this appears to be exactly what I am looking for!

Re: Sending device parameter names to controllers via API
I understand there's no way to send text via MIDI since it's not a supported data type - that's where I'm hoping the Python API could come in. I'm a little confused though, because the Python control scripts all just seem to be collections of class definitions, and I can't see anywhere that any clas...

Re: Sending device parameter names to controllers via API
I've taken a look at those before, but the are only for M4L tooling, correct?
As I understand it the M4L API itself can't talk to any Control Scripts etc. to serve up parameter names or values to a controller in a dynamic way a la the bluehand functionality

Sending device parameter names to controllers via API
Not strictly Max for Live related, but does anybody have any experience or resources/documentation to share regarding how to dynamically send device parameter names to an external controller (in my case, a TouchOSC device)? I've got my TouchOSC controls set up with a remote script to enable blue han...

Re: Major Problems With Live 11
As a side note I don't understand the access to Audio and Midi Effects now in section folders. Meaning clicking twice instead of one, not seeing them all at once (folders close when you open another one), not to mention having to get used to it. Changing things for a better yes, but changing just f...

Re: Create new audio track with input set to current selected track
Did not know BiP even existed - seems like a good device to have in the toolkit I like to set up a synth/instrument as a source track and record clips into Session view in real time and then chop/chunk/arrange with them later - being able to combine the (admittedly simple) 4-step process into a one-...

Re: Create new audio track with input set to current selected track
Okay, so I figured out how to do this pretty easily using the JavaScript API. Basically, you make a simple Max device that calls into a JS file, and then you can use JavaScript and the Live Object Model to grab whatever pieces of information you need. function makeNewTrack() { var liveSet = new Live...

Create new audio track with input set to current selected track
I am trying to build a utility device that will let me quickly do the following: 1. Create a new audio track 2. Set the input of the new track to be the output of the currently selected track 3. Arm the new track 4. Leave the currently selected track selected. Ideally the Max device could live on th...

Camel Alchemy 1.5 installer+library Windows 32-bit?
I know it's a long shot, but does anybody have the installer and library files for CamelAudio's Alchemy? Had a recent hard drive crash and my Backblaze backup didn't keep copies of any of the files for my VSTs. Not a big deal since I can re-install most plugins, with the notable exception of Alchemy...

Re: The Loop Loft: Any good?
They are fine for what they are, but I have not been particularly impressed with the packs I've gotten from them. All of the packs I've gotten have been pretty plain, unremarkable, had very little flavor to them. Nice generic beats that I could see being helpful for someone who has to put out a lot ...

Re: A guy redesigned Live's interface
This skin makes that hard and will over a long work day be very tiring. I disagree. I use a skin called Tympanic (from someone whose name I've long since forgotten) that looks very similar to the color choices here, and it is the only skin I can stand with Live. http://i.imgur.com/JrHEb5s.png To my...
