Re: Yamaha Mox8 and Ableton Live 10
I assume you mean MOXF not MOFX as that does not exist :) DAW Remote on the MOXF works in the same way as on the MOTIF XF, and is using Mackie Control emulation. It will not be perfect, as it doesn't really support Live, but the transport buttons should work when in DAW remote mode. In the owners ma...

Re: Uh.. Oh.. FLStudio now has performance mode
Unfortunately, the FL Studio license cannot be transferred... That's somewhere in the license agreement. I like FL Studio quite a bit. But YMMV of coursemouss3 wrote:...I do still have my FL license, but i am thinking of selling it, because i dont use it. ...

Re: 24/192 Music Downloads ...and why they make no sense
Tenshi: Thanks for the explanation. I learned something new here :) Indeed, the whole picture (or in this case, sound) is constructed in your brain. In that I follow you. What I believe the article is trying to say is that at some point, there is no benefit in going to higher sampling rates and or b...

Re: 24/192 Music Downloads ...and why they make no sense
I doubt that anyone can hear this... 1/44000 of a second is 0.0000227 seconds. Or, 0.0227 ms. A time delay of 0.1ms can be heard (according to many studies), this is 5 times more than one sample. 3D imaging is the difference in time between the left ear and the right ear. To differentiate, the brain...

Re: 24/192 Music Downloads ...and why they make no sense
This comes from the article: Articles last month revealed that musician Neil Young and Apple's Steve Jobs discussed offering digital music downloads of 'uncompromised studio quality'. Much of the press and user commentary was particularly enthusiastic about the prospect of uncompressed 24 bit 192kHz...

Re: 24/192 Music Downloads ...and why they make no sense
I think you're not getting the point of the article. It doesn't really discuss file formats (well, a small part of it does), but it's more a discussion of why 24/192 doesn't IMPROVE the sound (which is what a lot of people seem to believe) And the article goes on to say that even lossy formats, if e...

Re: windows8 preview... anyone try it out yet ?!
if you test it out can you see if windows will allow you to plug in a usb device (eg.apc40) without having to re boot Live? i doubt it will, as it does just seem to be a tablet skin for windows 7...but just incase!?? This is more a problem with Live (on windows) than it is a Windows issue. Sonar de...

Re: Anyone here use Apples Time Capsule?
Maybe you could also take a look at the Synology NAS range. They support time machine out of the box. They are nicely priced, and have lots and lots of features that might be handy as well. And, you can have them in several configurations (from one drive up to 24...) That is what I use. I have a DS1...

Re: 8.2.5 Crashes more than ever... :(
I do a permissions repair after any new update or install. What other maitenance do you do ? I have Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner. It also cleans the icon cache, and cleans the system caches. It checks for corrupt preferences, and much more. It's a nice app, but it's not free (not really expensive eit...

Re: 8.2.5 Crashes more than ever... :(
Maybe something you've tried already, but I found that if my Mac is acting strange, repairing permissions does wonders. I use something called mainmenu pro to do a daily/weekly/monthly cleaning of all stuff (different chores on different times - not only repair permissions) and my system is running ...

Re: New macbook pro destroys my previous Core2duo...
Not all i5's are dual cores. The desktop versions of the i5 are quad core. They don't have hyperthreading. The i5's for mobile computers are dual cores, but they do have hyperthreading (well, the sandy bridges do). I have an i5 imac 27", which is a quad core (of the previous generation - not sa...

Re: LIVE 8 PERFORMANCE TEST - Results Here
I have an i5 27" imac, and I get 25% (page 19), so I don't think it would be impossible for a i7 to get closer to 10%.

Re: Novation Launch Pad problem
You didn't mention which OS you are using. I had some issues with lagging on the launchpad, running on windows 7 x64. I know, not the same problem, but it might have the same cause. They released a new USB driver half of february, which solved my problem. Maybe it will help for your problem as well....
