Hi!
I've got the same problems.The reason is your firewire port, which is not able to give all the power to the soundcard.
You should update your drivers on the M-Audio homepage.

Ableton Live + M-Audio FW Audiophile
hello!
I bought a new soundcard this week, the M-Audio FW Audiophile for use in connection with ableton live 5.
I'm completly new to this topic.
Can anybody tell me how to deal with it in ableton in order to use two channels, one for master and one for monitoring.
I had tried a couple of hours ...
