Re: Propellerhead Reason 6 announced!
Reason 6 is going to smash ableton. I'm actually thinking of selling ableton and getting reason 6 or just keeping both. Propellerheads have been in the game for years. Also, ableton can't even write a stable program that dosen't crash, and its only become fully professional since version 7. Reason i...

Faster loading times + a few other bits
Faster load times for VST instruments
Faster bounce times when exporting audio (very slow at the moment)
True 64-bit support (minus bugs)
Different skins so that you can differentiate areas of the program and so it dosen't look like a grey blob)

Issues with 8.2.2
I have been having lots of problems with Ableton 8.2.2 and before. It keeps crashing and freezing. The delay compensation is not working properly, for instance I create an audio channel to route my drums, synths etc. through (like an AUX) and when I group these channels, it introduces big time laten...

Re: 8.2.1 CPU usage hitting 100% when it was only 20% in 8.1.5
I've just sent a message to ableton about this same issue. I thought updates were supposed to make the program perform better, not worse. I don't know who ableton has programming for them, but whoever it is dosen't know how to program properly.

Groups graphics mess up when deleting instruments
For some reason, when I sometimes delete an instrument from a group, the group end up graphically half-disappearing behind another group and can't get it back to normal. Ableton live latest update from this date.

Please make it faster
Ableton 8 is very slow to load and save on my AMD hexcore (which is very powerful). Also, it keeps running at around 20% processor when doing nothing. It is munching on my resources and shouldn't be.

Keeping automation straight when drawing horizontal.
I know that you can use shift to keep automation straight when running vertically using a key command. It would be great to have a key command to keep the automation straight when running horizontally as well. This helps to stop user mistakes with levels when drawing in automation.

Switch between MIDI instruments or clips from inside clips.
A fast way of being able to switch between MIDI instruments (eg vst synth plugins) without leaving the clip view or having to switch between clips by clicking on them. You can colour code the top strip to avoid confusion. Also, a way to flick through instruments or some kind of vst plugins or track ...

To be able to make ghost versions of midi objects
To be able to make ghost versions of midi objects. Like in in logic where you can drag the end of a midi clip and it creates ghosts across the track, but if you delete the original, it deletes all the ghosts. great function

Move clips around on arrange page with key command
The ability to select a clip or contiguous clips and move them around by holding keys and moving the arrows, this would save having to zoom in and click which can sometimes not be a cleacut affair. Also my 6x core AMD thubian has 16% processor being used with nothing running, I have vst instruments ...

Soundcloud support? So you could export your tracks straight to soundcloud? In a list of useless new features, this would hit the top 3. What next? Ability to post facebook status updates straight from Lives UI? :D As long as they put the facebook status update button next to the App store button, ...

Intelligent Delay Compensation
Intelligent delay compensation for third-party plugins. Ableton does not work very well with third-party plugins regarding bussing etc, when you place too many plugins on a bus, the sounds starts to double up on the track(even after playing with the buffer) . It may have to do with the way it deals ...
