Re: Proper file managment on Widows 7
VST's you can have anywhere you want since you can just point Live to the folder where they reside, although usually the will tend to go to something like program files/VST plugins which makes more sense than to put the in "documents" (plugins are not documents). As for the "proper w...

install everything from scratch (using default installers settings)
keep only what is ESSENTIAL from your old system (projects docs pics..personal stuff)
prior to copying your projects.. load up each one on your old system and hit 'collect all and save' in Live..

Re: Moving files from Windows XP 32 bit to Windows 7 64bit
it's inevitable that there will be missing files. do your best first time and then open all your projects and copy the files from the old place until they all work unless you stored everything in one directory - which I used to do in Live 8 - but then Live 9 came along and wrecked my backup strateg...

Hi guys, I own live 8 and normally I work on my laptop workstation. Windows xp.
I just bought a massive desktop workstation (windows 7) but it is 64 bit. Can I install my current live 8 32 bit into a 64 bit system... If I upgrade to live 9 can I do 64 bit...
Thanks
