never really liked Traktor The point i need to "throw MP3`s at it and expect it to happen" is to get the bpm for surre of say an old disco track and then use that to play other parts to it (be it in cubase/ableton or whatever) I`m a vinyl man butAbleton certainly will be usefull.

PS just got an email asking me if i know about "auto warp` for large files in Ableton 4. is that the way its done in 4 and where is it !!! ???????

so get A 5 then !!!, can`t believe 4 don`t do it. 5`s not been out that long and for ages now people have been raving about abletons `live` capabilities,which i can see in 5 but i`m gob smacked it did`nt do it in 4 !!

I downloaded the Demo of Ableton 5 and found it excellent @ making 2 different BPM tracks the same BPM. IE: i just dropped the 2 tracks in a ABleton set the 2 tracks at the same BPM. (so many uses). A friend has Ableton 4 and says he can`t do that. He can do it with small loops but not full tracks ...

i`m on a PC and i`ve been informed its cos i`m running ableton 4 and i`d run the demo of A 5,anything that was used in the 5 demo now won`t run on 4 unless i get rid of the little file that ticks the orignal wav... (did`nt realise running the 5 demo would do this !!! . i have another question about ...

Yea please help !!!! although today i`m gonna re-install the whole program and see if that cures it !!

When i try to drag a sound file across (Wav.) i get a "Failing to read `drumloop.wav`.Unreconized sound file type"

When i first cubase a few (big producers) gave me a helping hand and i swore then that if anyone asked me out i`d help,and i have shown about 5 people how to get going,its great,like giving them a gift.So cheers for the help ...

Yea i think i will, Does it work the same way as Cubase IE: audio tracks Horizontal with the cursor playing it all as it goes over it ? may sound a stupid question but i had a play with Reason and because i`ve allways been into Cubase i just did`nt get it at all.

How do people. I`m thinking of getting ableton live and wondered if you can use it to mix with MP3`s. you know just say ten tracks mixed together and exported out. I do want to use for so much more as i`m a producer and from what i`ve read its a must have tool. (i use Cubase sx just now).
