Hi,
Do you guys sidechain each individual track, or just the main groups like bass, instruments and effects?
I have done both, but I'm not sure what I like the most. Each individual track is good so that I can tweak them all to my liking, but it takes more time.
Groups are good because then they ...

Re: Valhalla vs Ableton stock reverb
Valhalla has a few free plugins, including Supermassive that you can try and compare directly.
Not sure which version of Ableton you have, but I use Echo and Convolution Pro stock reverbs in almost every production.
Thanks

Valhalla vs Ableton stock reverb
Hi,
I see that many people on YouTube use Valhalla reverb. Is that a lot better than the Ableton stock reverb?
I'm not super happy with the Ableton stock reverb, but I'm not sure if that's because I'm just using it wrong og if it's really not that good.

How to replace only ONE sample?
Hi,
I have taken a Tiesto song and separated it into some stems (via Lalal.ai), only to use it as reference in my song making.
I needed to nudge the placement of the drum stem a bit in Arangement Mode to make it sync with my song, and now I want to the same with the bass stem.
I have duplicated ...

Re: CHANGING COMPUTERS
I in the same situation as you these days. You can use Ableton on both computers with the same serialnumber. I also use it to double check that everything runs smoothly with plugins, sound library etc.

Re: Which sound card works with Mac Sequoia?
The Tac-2 doesn’t work with Apple Silicon, period. Zoom posted that info on their web site back in 2021.
What works? My MOTU M2 works fine with my M1 MacBook Air. It has the bonus of MIDI ports, each input has it’s own direct monitor and phantom power switch, there are meters not just clip LEDs ...

Which sound card works with Mac Sequoia?
Hi,
I just got an iMac with Sequoia OS and I was wondering if anyone knows which sound card works with that?
I already have the Zoom Tac-2 but I read that it does not work with Sequoia. I could just test but then I would have to buy a $60 adapter from Thunderbolt to USV-C first, so I would love ...

Best way to move files to new computer?
Hi,
I just got a "new" iMac (at least for me), and I'm wondering what's the best way to move all the different files? I currently use Ableton Live Suit 10, but will get Ableton Live Suit 12 for the new iMac. I have a couple of questions below :D
1) The projects files are OK to move I guess, but ...

Why doesn't Ableton sell Live 11 anymore??
Hi!
I have Live 10 and want to upgrade. My iMac is from 2014, so it's too old to run Live 12, but not Live 11.
When I looked at ableton.com å couple of months ago it was still possible to buy Live 11, but now it's removed.
Does anyone know why they made this decision? I'm now stuck with Live 10 ...

Re: Question about cutting Hz on instruments (to make room for bass)
130Mhz seems a bit high if you doing a hard cut, but okay for a gradual roll-off. That's right in the middle of the low-end of a bass guitar. 120Hz roll-off is generally more to reduce rumble, boom, and unwanted noise.
Thank you for the reply. I moved it back to 120Hz now. I didn't hear any ...

Question about cutting Hz on instruments (to make room for bass)
Hi!
When I make songs, I make 3 main groups in my project: drums, bass and synths etc.
On the synth group, I put a EQ8 on the group and cut everything below 130Hz (to make sure it never ads up). To me this sounds OK and makes the mix cleaner (I also EQ each track individually), but I wonder if I ...

Re: Are some kicks on Splice too bad for mastering?
Just means you're hitting the limiter too hard, so the easies option is to just turn down the input or turn up the threshold to reduce how hard you're hitting the limiter. The new kicks are likely just compressed more and are making your song louder than it was before, so you're doing more ...

Re: Are some kicks on Splice too bad for mastering?
if it sounds fine on its own, but after output, it’s distorting, your kick and/or master level is probably too loud. turn down and export at a usable volume—usually you want at least like 2 db of headroom. it’s generally not a great idea to be concerned with your LUFS at the mixing stage. that’s ...

Are some kicks on Splice too bad for mastering?
Hi!
I have struggled to get my kicks to sound good and clean then trying to master (they get distorted). These are Splice kicks from known producers like Kshmr etc., so I guess they should have been made for mastering?
But the other day I had an online lesson, and my teacher suggested trying ...
