This really makes me want to try Bitwig.

That tip just prevented me from returning my 2nd hand Surface Pro tablet.
Now Live9 is crystal clear in all zoom sizes.

+1 Think of a big live set for live usage. Can't mix audio and MIDI within the same track. So Audio Loops need to be triggered from MIDI instruments. Using Reaktor, Kontakt or M4L to keep loops timestreched with the current BPM is a bit tedious. And it's there already in Impulse. But not with the op...

If you are ok with a soldering iron, Midibox.org and their readymade breadboards and logic can get you pretty far. That's very economical, but also quite a project. Definately. Been there, done it.
