Re: Push 2: Recording multiple MIDI channels

Control surfaces will often have extra communication signals passed between the software and hardware which allow for all the fancy stuff (like coloured buttons, displays, shift function buttons, dynamic feedback etc). This requires the use of a script to control how all that info is handled, hence ...

Re: Push 2: Recording multiple MIDI channels

Push is a “control surface” and not just a midi controller so it sends data on different channels and isn’t locked to just a single channel, nor can it be in normal mode. However if you switch push to midi mode I think it can, tho looses all its smarts.

Re: File "...." could not be read. It may be corrupted or not licensed" error message in status bar

When you uninstall I believe it still leaves the library files behind. Did you happen to install a trial version (or other) before lite that could have installed library content? What you need to do is locate where the library has been installed (in live Prefs it should show where it is) then manual...

Re: Splitting midi clips, HOW?!?!?

Just highlight the section you want then right-click in the editor and choose to either loop the region or if you don't need the rest of the clip, crop it. You cannot "split" it because it is not on a timeline. If you would like to make multiple clips and select different regions for each, duplicate...

Re: Tracks for song saves as alp.als instead of just .als

sounds like the alp extension part just snuck in there. Normally the last .ext is the extension so if it is "myAwesomeSong.alp.als" then the file format is als and your song name is "myAwesomeSong.alp"

Just do a SaveAs and delete the alp part, it's just part of the name and not an extension

Re: Ableton lite arturia mk2 vst issues

Here's the usual reply to a question of this caliber:

- What OS?
- Is your "default folder" you speak of added as the custom VST path in Live?
- Anything else you can add to elaborate on such as what the path to the VST is (we have no idea what the "default" is on your system
- etc.. etc...

Re: Undoing audio recording and keeping the browser clean

It's not possible to have recordings delete when you undo the recording, that would then create issues for all those that decide they made a mistake and need to "redo" things again. It's a safety thing as Live has no real idea that you don't need something for real and it is far better to keep somet...

Re: Live 10 isn't seeing my MIDI keyboard

Before blindly installing things to fix the issue, you need to know what the issue is.

If you go into device manager of your computer do you see your keyboard listed or anything that is not recognized?

Could try a reinstall of drivers. Sometimes that can just fix the issue.

Re: Massive X - Massive F (Up)?

NI need to slip some cardboard or something under the leg of their development table because they seem to be dropping $h1t all over the floor constantly. Their line of keyboards are still in almost constant beta and it is taking them up to 2 years to release features that should be available at laun...

This will help me and all the others out there! Indeed. Which is why after 20 years, much of that has already been done so we don't need to do it all again. https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27120 There is also youtube, the Live Help menu, the Ableton website which has a lot of useful v...

Re: MIDI Keyboard issues

However, it only registers about four keys. Does that mean only 4 of the notes seem to work when you press them? If you press keys that do not produce sound and cast your eyes to the top right of the live window, do you see the MIDI activity indicators blink? YES: You have activity going in so coul...
