Re: Tips on combining projects for live use?

Producers hate this one weird trick. Taglines like that should have you earning a mint on YouTube. Just need to put the EMPHASIZED words in CAPS! A produced track and a performance set should be treated as 2 completely different things. Listen to everything said above because "perfection"...

Makes perfect sense to most people but some hit their thumb with a hammer and will always blame the hammer... every time.

Re: Live crashes when changing sample rate

So I discovered that the best way to change a sample rate in Live is not to have any project loaded. Then it seems to work OK Do you not read answers people give you????? You complained about this in another thread and I suggested it’s probably due to plugins having to internally change their setti...

Re: Export audio always problem at start

Yes a few Could be them then. If it is only at the start and without any details of what plugins you have or system you are on or anything, first workaround that comes to mind is simply moving everything in your project a bar to the right so you have a small amount of dead space at the front to hop...

Re: Crackle when using kontakt VST, not with Ableton instruments

I’ve had this issue as well with the latest version of Kontakt. Not 100% sure why, but I have had to remove some CPU hungry fx to get rid of it. But it’s not consistent. The song will play fine when I first open it, then craps out later. I may go back a version or two. The OPs issue is from last ye...

Re: Why does ableton constantly delete my stems? And silence my tracks?

It's because it's cluttering up my desktop with junk .asd files (that seriously I cant do anything with) and if I even MOVE them then my sample goes away. Oh, and apparently when I move the .wav file to a different place the sample disappears as well. I guess it is too hard to have the idea that on...

Re: Healthy Competition, or Conflict of Interest?

I guess it depends if you are working within these companies or as an external contractor. It is not uncommon for companies to seek people that are not directly working for competition and it has nothing to do with having enough work to go around really, more about the fact that you would be learnin...

Re: Why does ableton constantly delete my stems? And silence my tracks?

The analogy is this: Yeah I "get it" I just don't get why it needs to be such a convoluted and perplexing analogy considering the actual issue is rather straight forward. Most DAWs and applications create reference and different format files which you need to know how to manage. Guess not...

But that's the thing That's about where you lost me, understand nothing further from that point onward. The problem and explanation from others seems pretty easy to understand, not sure what the malfunction in comprehension is but that story does help to explain a little. https://pbs.twimg.com/prof...

Re: Seeting up multiple sound sources and speakers

Well it works for me using multiple audio interfaces plus 8 channels out of my main audio interface into a mixer, no complaints about windows audio management since Win10 is pretty good at managing multiple audio outputs and after 12 years I have never had it "fired one day". I do however,...

Re: A new Workstation (Mainboard/PC)

Whatever works with the CPU you plan to use, not aware of any motherboards causing issues with audio in the past, especially if you use external audio interface. I recall a time way back in the early 2000 where AMD CPUs were completely unsuitable for audio production as they did not process floating...

Re: What would you place in a rack?

Yeah really depends on your own personal needs and a reason to probably not get a rack if you don't have enough gear to fill a rack is you will look at the empty space and wonder what else you could waste money on filling holes that will never be used :) I personally do not have a rack for my work s...

Yep, that is how ASIO works 1:1.

Sounds like you should be using something like this (which I use for multi-monitor setup):
