it's a great buy. definitely not the cheapest laptop, but very stable and reliable - which is what you if you use it for playing live. I returned to mac last year after being lured away to PC for some 5 years, so..

^^^ thanks, adventurepants. :D and it's true, i might have been unlucky. and quandry, i suppose you're absolutely right too (since i bought an rme some problems disappeared) still i wouldn't want to be responsible for people switching from mac to pc... but it was definitely not my intention to start...

and on several computers, PC as well as Mac.

ok, eh, good idea, but maybe not so good if there's a relation between Mozy and your computer slowing down.
I had a similar problem (sluggishness) with Apple's Timecapsule and eventually decided to back up another way (dumping all my new music on a 8 gig usb stick that i carry with me).
