Now that I’ve migrated from my FireWire Saffire Pro 40 to an RME Digiface, I’m currently looking at upgrading my 2018 i7 Mac Mini to an M4. I’m using some hardware effects, so my main driver for the upgrade is to get the lowest possible latency I can from my RME.

When I bought my Push 2 second hand, I tried loads of cables and out of all the ones I had around, only one out of maybe 5 or 6 worked.
I think Push 2 is very picky on USB leads!

The Novation sidechain implemention is a clever midi trick. You can see this when you mute the source of the sidechain, it stops the ducking effect. But if you turn down the source track, the ducking effect remains.

So this is definitely an option, if we can’t get a compressor with a sidechain ...

I have to say, this really would be one of my nice to haves.

Aren't the midi editing capabilities better on the Push 3? I remember seeing a video a while back and I even made a comment about it when I saw the improved midi editing workflow.

I'm still baffled that we can only select a sidechain input for the compressor from the Push3SA and not any other Ableton devices.
Maybe I'm an unusual case, but I make use of sidechaining really heavily and this has stopped me upgrading from Push2 to Push3.

Is there any kind of work around then for this?
