Live 9 Beta Discussion? Where's the secret forum gone?!

Guys Whenever I've done beta testing in the past there's usually a secret bit in the forum to openly discuss functionality and issues. This time round there doesn't seem to be one, so have Ableton done away with the whole none disclosure thing? I've got a whole bunch of shit I want to go through but...

Re: Learning to DJ

Ok, pro DJ and Trainer here (not certified yet though!) I have a bunch of techniques to illuminate/minimise mouse use, so you don't look like you're checking your email and look like you're actually performing. Firstly there's this.. https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=34213 1 of my first ...

Re: short cut for deselection loop switch button?

I'm interested in this too. It would be really handy for playing out. I've tried with Python and Max 4 Live but it'd lead to all sorts of stability issues.

Re: Live control (controller or ipad)

For live performances I'd recommend initially using a physical device over a touch screen. I used to use a Lemur a few years back but I could never get the precision I needed, so end up adding an X-Session for finer control. However, Touchable on the iPad is a very capable piece of kit, but I couldn...

Re: difference between sidechaining Gate and sidechaining Comp

Say for example you're using a typical 4x4 kick beat as your sidechain input for pad..... with sidechaining Gate you'd hear the pad ON the beat, with sidechaining Comp you'd hear the pad OFF the beat.

Re: The 'Apple Slate' table laptop

Last rumor was that it will run the iphone OS... which should kill any erections. There is already plenty of options on the pc side but I dont see myself running ableton with my fingers. I was reading about a '3 bears' operating system, something that fits nicely in the middle. And as for running A...

The 'Apple Slate' table laptop

I've been trawling the net for a couple of months looking into this, all I seem to be able to find out is this a multi-touch device, dual-core processor, is between 7 and 13 inches, and will cost about 750 quid/dollars/euros. The idea of a unit that combines a mac book pro and a lemur makes me have ...

Re: This is just tragic...

The music biz isn't what it used to be, there's no cash in it! Got a load of training for 'proper' work, which going to take a couple of months to finish, which is gonna cost me. But it'll be worth in the long run. The deal is for 2 tracks, and they (Couture) are waiting on a 3rd. I've kit in anothe...

This is just tragic...

...got signed yesterday, and I'm also being offered gigs. But I have to sell studio gear to pay for my rent!

And some c*nts robbed my family home and pinced my dead mum's jewelery last night.

Re: I'm thinking about selling my Lemur DJ setup!

Out of curiosity, if you're selling your current DJ setup do you plan on replacing it with something else? I'm fortunate enough to be pretty good with IT  This rig is capable of remixing tunes on the fly. The next rig I'll be able to write on the fly, with M4L I believe that will be possible. ...
