If you're talking about eg bouncing a mono synth to audio, then yes Live will bounce it as a dual-mono file and I reckon this can be annoying (I myself find this annoying).

Technically Ableton Live is doing it right as you said, yes, but because it's deciding for you how that original file may be and that's not logical.
Let me decide how that "original" file should be.

today a bit upset about realizing that new Ableton 12.3, still today in 2026 forces you to use stereo channels or dual-mono without the chance to just see a single waveform like when you directly record audio with a mic or a monophonic synth for example.

So simple, so missing...

Modulations are only visible in the detailed clip view.
You can probably work around this by using the CC Control midi device.

When automating an analog synth without a VST editor (OB-6 in this case) I can't see the envelope that I'm performing in an arrangement clip via MIDI.

Why the Sample Start value isn't updated in the device if it already has a modulation envelope acting?
Previous versions of Live showed this and actually, I don't have other way to know the exact current position of the paremeter if does not show it.

I don't get why the Vertical Zoom isn't available also in the Clip View , I thought it would be corrected in Live 12.1 but nope.

It opens the left window with all the parameters linked to your macros,
