Re: "Alchemy VST plugin damage" - but its not

I just got the same problem today. I tested it by removing all the other plugins from the VST folder except Alchemy. It didn't fail the vst scan, but now it doesn't show up in the browser in Live 10.1.6 at all. I was able to launch Live 10.1 and it displays and runs Alchemy fine. The good news is th...

Re: VST scan every run 10.0.1

The only thing that finally worked for me was to use an SSD for my system drive. As soon as I did that, many of my Live problems went away, especially slow startups.

Re: midiVolve new pack

I've spent a couple of hours with this and I'm very pleased. The Max device is a very good solution to randomizing/humanizing. I thought the instruments that came with it would just be fluff addons, but I'm pleased to be wrong about that. One way to judge something is by how much time gets lost when...

Re: Live 9.7.2 Export Audio messed up (FIXED)

I isolated the problem by exporting each track separately. Everything was fine except for one track with a loop and 2CAudio's Kaleidoscope. I checked the settings for Kaleidoscope and noticed that the offline defaults had a different sampling rate and a very big buffer. I never remember touching the...

Live 9.7.2 Export Audio messed up (FIXED)

I have a project that sounds like I want it, but when I export the audio, there is a glitch at the beginning of the wave file, like a loud pop, then a drop in volume for about a 16th note, then everything sounds right. Exporting like always as Wave, 44.1 KHz, 24-bit, no dither I tried exporting an o...

Re: No new betas since 9.7.1 - Live 10?

Yes, I was just about to post that I was wrong about the whole thing. I was also surprised that this post bothered anyone because there were other speculation threads elsewhere. I'll gladly contribute to an Ableton Web Storage support fund if there is any issues with unnecessary postings in the Loun...

Re: Live slow startup solved! (Not Really)

OK, doing something else for 10 minutes was an exaggeration. (actually seemed longer) Here are the numbers. Boot Machine Boot Live Time to Splash Screen 42 sec Initialize and Scan 38 sec Default set loading time - 1 sec Delay before Loading Set Message appears (Beach Ball Hang)- 1:46. Yikes! Time to...

Re: Live slow startup solved! (Not Really)

I have multiple levels of delays. 1: Delay before I see the splash screen 2: Delay while it scans plugins when the splash screen displays 3: Beach Ball Spin while I try to load the first set (after default set loads). I think some of it is Live Indexer after the program actually loads. But Activity ...

Re: Live slow startup solved!

Crap. Spoke too soon. After some computer reboots, the problem is back. It may be Live Indexer, but Activity Monitor doesn't show very high CPU for this process when things are hanging.

Well, I'll have to go back to my previous strategy. Start Live and go do something else for 10 minutes.

Live slow startup solved! (Not Really)

I think. So far so good. I've been having problems for quite a while with Live taking a very long time to launch (2-5 minutes). Long delays to bring up the splash screen, long delays to launch, spinning beachball after launch, very long time to load first set after booting the default set. Today I h...

No new betas since 9.7.1 - Live 10?

There has been no Live 9 beta activity since the last release at the beginning of December. Is this the sign we've been looking for?

Has anyone ever done a Horoscope for Live?

I Ching? Tarot Card readings?

Re: Push 2 bad pad sensitivity

I had problems with Push 1 pad sensitivity and Ableton support was very helpful. They sent me some tools to test my Push, sent me a beta of firmware, and when we determined that it was a hardware issue, exchanged it for another unit.

What's unsupportive about that?

Re: BCR 2000 on MAC

Are you using the BCR with its power supply? I don't think it works with USB power only.
