Very low levels recording ASIO

Hi, I'm using Live 8 on Windows 7 and I'm trying to record from my EMU 0202 USB.

I have the EMU ASIO driver setup in Audio preferences in Ableton. I have a phono pre-amp output going into my soundcard, and the level lights on the EMU 0202 USB look good (flashing green, no red).

But in Live, after ...

MP3s get imported with minutes of silence added to the end

Some of my MP3s get imported with two or three minutes of silence at the end of them. I think this happens with some VBR tracks.

Any one else having this problem? (with 5.02 and 5.03)

Is there any definative (or even vague) changelist from 5.0.2 to 5.0.3? I know it went through a few betas, surely they told people what changed.

Going back to jesse's original problem of "gaps" in the arrangement. In 5.0.2, I did the thing where you switch off the loop, and the rest of the clip ...

I have 5.0.2 and 5.0.3 installed on separate PCs now, and I'm having no problems with 5.0.3, trying as much as I can to make it mess up its arrangement view.

5.0.2 makes a holy mess easily enough. If you play a track (click on record first), and at, say 5:1:1 click "Set" on the Loop Position, and ...

Yes, I meant to mention them also.

When I'm dealing with lots of tracks (20+), each with their own filters, it's time consuming to look through all of them, try to find every red circle.

Two more questions to try to pin down the problem:

What version of Live are you using? I've just upgraded to 5.0.3 and haven't had the problem yet (only after doing a quick test though)

And, how many tracks (in Ableton's session view) are you using? Are you giving each mp3 it's own "track" in ...

Basic question: Clearing all automations?

When I'm recording a (DJ) set, and I want to start again, what's the best way to delete all of the automations I've done, without starting a new set and losing all the tracks in my session view?

What I do now is highlight everything in arrangement view, press delete, and then look around for any ...

I think the problem is with how we are doing the mixing.

Surely others would have had this problem, because it is fairly obvious. (sets don't record properly!)

I'm going to go away and read the manual on how to record a DJ set with loops, and see if that helps!

Have you searched this forum for ...

20 millisecond gaps in output

I've just started using ableton, and I'm getting this problem on the two PCs I've tried it on.

One is Athlon XP 2400+, 1GB RAM.
The other is P4 3.2Ghz HT, 512MB RAM.

I'm using no special soundcard or hardware, just the onboard sound.

There are often these glitches, or gaps, in the output. I've ...

Hey Jessie,

I was getting the same problem as you, and I think it only happens when either:

a) I jump through a track while I'm playing it (using the "Scrub" thing by clicking in the bottom half of the soundwave)

or..

b) I switch on and off the loop on a track while I'm playing it.

Were you ...
