Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
To keep the slightly OT bits about DIY basstraps etc. out of here, as not all might be interrested, not at least us speaking some sort of scandinavian, then drop me a PM and i'll link to my studio diary, allthough written in Danish it should be ok for a Norwegian fellow Ableton user too. For the Fin...

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...
@ze2be: That is spot on! Albeit it can be done much nicer in terms of design, but that is all down to how skilled you are with hammer & nails! :-) To give an example, mine are the ones on this picture. Takes a little longer to make, but well worth the effort. Will post more images as soon as I f...

I want a new car. Now who can borrow me a crowbar and the, "how to circumvent the theft protection" tutorial! The later should be in PDF format so I can bring my iPad.

Re: Why doesn't turning off plug-in also result in less CPU?
I'm not sure, but I would guestimate that the CPU efficiency isn't relative to VST/AU plug-Ins, but only effective within Live's own instruments and plugs. Try it out as a comparison to se what effect it has if you ad a few reverbs etc. that pull some CPU, and then turn them off?

Re: how do i get the 8x5 red grid on apc40?
For arguments sake DigitalLove, keep it to one thread, as you might confuse yourself more than necessary making three threads on the same topic. I have actually made an answer to your exact problem description in one of your earlier threads.
No pun intended though!

Re: Anyone have a dj template for apc40 and live 8?
You need to highlight the I/O Track/Sync/Remote boxes underneath the Pull down menus, as they decide if the APC can communicate with Live. Again can't remember which exactly, so check the manual for Live.

Re: Anyone have a dj template for apc40 and live 8?
Just saw you got me posting in two threads, so i'll stick with this one. Check the midi sync pane, in Live's preferences, and make sure the APC is selected in all three options in the pull-down menus, then I can't remember the I/O sync settings as I haven't got my APC where I am now, but check the m...

Re: do i need a disk for the apc40 to work?
The short answer is: No Disc needed, as long as you configure the midi setup correctly in Live's Preferences!

Re: Anyone have a dj template for apc40 and live 8?
Hey there. The cool thing about the APC is that you can make it fit your style exactly, and there are as many ways to use it, as there are users! Do you want a two deck setup, make one. Four Decks with FX make it, a full live performance rig not assembling a traditional DJ setup, do it :-) It's not ...

rivaling even Tom Cruise jumpin up and down on Oprah's couch. That STILL get's a Thumbs Up from me, and as such is a landmark other actors should recognize. Didn't he also do a stunt of sorts on Letterman?! If that's the Bar, Steve just raises it by his mere omnipresence. We are all slaves to one c...

This is the indisputable nail in the Microsoft coffin! Bill! go and play some homage to Steve for Christ' sake! Steve is the chosen son, and you are the spawn that the devil saw as his illegitimate and ignored offspring from a one-night stand gone very bad! It's the ever-present Eternal Truth! Cult ...

Re: Small midi controllers?
Take a look at the AKAI LPK25 (25key real keyboard keys compared to the Korg) which is far better than the Korg Nano's. might as well also look at the LPD8 (8 drumpads and small rotary encoders)which is fun for all kinds of uses. Both take abuse well, and seems a bit better than the pricetag, but do...
