Besides velocity, a quick way to get creative with snare rolls is to use an arpeggiator and automate the rate(experiment with sync and free running) drop a snare sample in to a simpler and create an 8 bar midi clip(legato) just adjust the envelope to taste. ^ you shouldn't have to consolidate. He will have to consolidate if he wants to highlight a certain section of the arrangement to be the same color over multiple tracks. He can do it without consolidate by selecting the region then using the Split command (ctrl E) then he cabn set clip colours. Yea...

Highlight the sections you want over multiple tracks then Ctrl+j(consolidate) highlight again right click and pick a color and that will be applied to all selected.

well, just upgraded from Live 8/Operator/Sampler to Live 8 Suite with the free upgrade to 9 Suite. It looks pretty tasty for a 1.0 release and should surely force Abletons hand if indeed there is a hidden (a)ce to trump Bitwig(not sure about the name though)

Something to try with Z3ta+ - In the Master Section in the bottom right corner, just change RENDER from DRAFT to HIGH.

A limiter is a compressor with a higher ratio of 10:1 and above.
