how much delay compensation
Hello, I have the following: http://grab.by/yeO The audio is being triggered from ableton as a midi clip, going to a hardware synth and back. The midi is set to play on beat. The delay in the recorded waveform is the delay from the synth back into the audio interface. How do I calculate the track de...

I've always wondered, is their actually a button to turn the click on and off when recording, i used to just press c in cubase, i still do it even now 5 years later, but it does nothing. bah Its assignable. So you can turn it on or off with a MIDI/Key message assigned to the metronome. Hmm... I tho...

Ableton, dear, dear Ableton,
Please give us a button to press to enable/disable the count-in click. Or make it a menu option so at least mac's can map a keystroke to it via the OS.
How about shift clicking the metronome button? Anything.
Thank you.

Live 8 Zoom and audition features
If not so already, please let keys be assigned to user-defined zoom states. For example, I define a zoom that puts the midi window nearly full-screen and assign the A key to it. etc. Would love to be able to tap a single key to bring up pre-defined zooms. Regarding audition - please have a process t...

possible to hand edit midi map values?
Is it possible to edit the values of the midi controller map by hand? Currently I press the map button, select a controller and then send the CC I want to map. Due to an unusual circumstance, I want to map controllers for which I do not have the actual knob box on hand at the moment. Is there a way ...

Good Advice, but the Laptop you suggest has no Firewire and no PCMCIA Slot. This is a dealbreaker for many of us. Agreed. I posted that one because Best Buy has it a lot (it will be sold out and then they get more the next week over and over again). I usually wait until I get a good deal with firew...

Thats just a little faster than my dell inspiron, which runs live 7 pretty well. If your having issues I would suggest it's more likely to be software related. Have you thought about maybe getting it looked at by someone that knows what they're doing with pc's, could be lots of thing causing you pr...

I started a similar thread above. You may want to read my thoughts in it. When you search and find a $400 dual core on sale it seems like a no brainer to me. Just as fast. I would be sure to put on XP on it. I do think vista is usable though. I have a friend who plays out all the time for four or mo...

why buy a cheap PC laptop (verus mac) - advice
Another user PM'd me with a question about cheap PC laptops. I thought I'd share my response so that: 1. it might help others 2. others can reply with more advice or disagreement. The following is what works for me. Your case might be different so be sure to do your research before buying! Also, if ...

freaking patch change messages!
I'm really feeling this one tonight. Please make ableton instruments respond to patch changes. Very lame to sit at a keyboard and not be able to do patch selects from it.
