Re: USB electronic drumkit

I did this with a ps3 Rock Band drum kit. As long as you've got enough ram it works very well with negligible latency. Cheap, but effective.

Blend.io - Someone else finished Ableton Share

I DID do a quick search, cuz I figured there was no way I'd be the first to put this up here, but you all need to check out this article at djtechtools.com and get in on the Blend.io Beta.

HELP!!! Audio drop out with Reason Balance

I have searched and searched and cannot find a solution to this problem. I friend of mine recently got into Ableton Live (8.1.4 - I know its old, and recommended an upgrade). The issue is she is using the Reason Balance audio interface and during recording/playback there is a frequent audio drop out...

Can someone help with Custom MIDI script?

So I use Haz Petrov's APC64-40 remote script, and have recently become enamored by the flashy VU meters used by illGates and will marshall. I figured if I bought Will Marshalls template shouldn't be too hard to reverse enginer the VU meters and get them working with my current script, well either I'...

Re: DJ equipment suggestions for beginners.

Just my $0.02 here ... you can make any controller do what you want and work in the way you want it. I have used (and still have collecting dust) the Behringer BCD2000/3000 controllers, not bad, not really great for scratching but the controls are pretty intuitive, also the Hercules RMX (this is my ...

BCF2000 + APC40 MIDI Channels

Hey, been away from the knobs and faders for almost a year (life got in the way of living) and have gone completely brain dead so forgive me. I have an APC40 and just picked up the BCF2000, they seem to be transmitting signals on the same MIDI channel causing some annoying problems - ie the fader i ...

Just got a new laptop with the intel i3-370m. Now up until this point I have always wiped the hd on a new comp and installed xp. Hate vista, and know xp inside out. However new laptop has windows 7. How does Live perform on 7 vs xp? Would I have more troubles running xp on the new i3 vs running live...

Re: Cheapo DJ Controllers

I to this day still use my crusty ol BCD2000. Cheap, and it has never failed me. Though, since I've converted to Live, it doesnt get used as it did when I was a Traktor nuthugger, it still works great for master/fx control. Using something like Darrio Maffia's V-DJM plug you can easily emulate a &qu...

Re: pay it forward (your unused equipment)

w00t! Thanks to Nux, I am the happy owner of a new MPD16. And as the thread title says, pay it forward, thus I will. I am offering up my nanoPad and nanoKey, both work well, and have worked well for me. They may not be the greatest, but for anyone without ANY MIDI controllers they are a great start....

Re: one track, 5 clips, 1 midi control?

Read this thread, and get ClyphX. http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=153113 Using this script, you can program in sequences that play out step by step each time the clip is lauched. Meaning you can launch your first clip, and the next time you trigger same control, it will play the sec...

Re: Do you use monitor isolation pads?

As many have stated, they do seem to be made out of packing material. That being said, I made my own. I used a dense packing foam about 9"x9". I cut and glued into the indented space that holds the product 1.5" of MDF board, and then covered that with extra carpet from the sub box I p...
