Control Microkorg presets with clips - template provided
I have created a template file for using an older Korg MicroKorg on Ableton. Its a sort of Program auditioner with individual midi clips for each of the 128 programs. It allows me to change programs quickly using a lunchpad. Hope it will be handy for others and it should be easy to do one for every ...

Bad CPU issue - solution
Just in case anyone else gets this or currently has any weird CPU issues. I have a laptop and have been using an internal card and occasionally a midi keyboard or a launchpad, never both. This has been working fine for me with 8.2.2. I had a better quality Lineport UX2 USB soundcard and finally got ...

Vocal warping
I have been going over my old FL Studio tracks, exporting to midi and rebuilding in Ableton with fresher sounds and techniques. Amazing difference in the quality of the tracks. Anyway, I had some vocals on the old tracks which I am dropping into Ableton version but the warping is causing me issues. ...

Line 6 UX2 CPU error - peaking - overload
I recently started using my USB Line6 UX2 for my sound source and Ableton seems to be really struggling now. Its almost like it builds up over time and then starts crackling. Sometimes I can get through the whole song and then maybe the next time it climbs rapidly and then peaks out. When I stop it ...

Re: Novation Launchpad and Live Intro 8.2
Considering the Launchpad is a dedicated ableton controller, with ableton's logo printed alongside the novation one on the actual instrument itself, and all of their promotional material bills it as "The Ableton Live Controller" I would imagine that might be possible. As to part two, that...

Re: Who uses presets?
A lot depends on what your in it for. If you want commercial success then as long as it sells then everything you do is ok. If you are after the respect of other musicians and no money then you should be designing your own synths with a soldering iron and pieces of old boards rescued from the skip. ...

Re: Gross Beat vs. Lucifer VST
Lucifer is very good... I think its a papal ruling that you can't put 'lucifer' and the word 'good' in the same sentence, unless properly caveated. Lucifer (the brand name and not the fallen angel hell bent on corrupting all humanity) may or may not be good (depending on your religious affiliations).

Re: Do the buttons on the Launchpad sustain notes?
http://www.nativekontrol.com/LPC-Live.html This is the best thing I ever bought and expands the launchpad facilities dramaticaly. Has sustain and pitch bend associated to buttons. I now don't need midi keyboard or mouse. Just launchpad on my lap and laptop sitting off to side. The step sequencer wo...

Re: connecting midi instrument
I thought all 80s midi guitars would have had a special box to make it work "I only have experience with the Roland GK3 and subsequent other chain parts, so I'll answer from that POV. The pickup itself doesn't actually turn your signal into a midi signal. It just sends hexaphonic information do...

Re: Intermittent fault.
Check XPs event logs and see if you can see the usb disconnecting and reconnecting. If there are no system events then at least that would rule out hardware (dodgy port, bad cable etc). Physically disconnect and reconnect to get an eample of the messages you will be looking for.
