SSD for dual core? or upgrade to 4 core with Sata 7200?
So I have Macbook pro mid-2010 dual core i7 2.8 with 8 megs of ram. (17") I had started using some various Waves and Sound Toys plugs, and noticed my CPU meter was occasionally passing 50%, so I asked around and a mac tech suggested I could get a 4 core, or just get an SSD. The SSD seemed like ...

Re: Launchpad to much dependent on Live DAW / please read!
Automap HAS a midi mode, and in that environment Automap **is** the editor/librarian. I think you'll find the whole setup more flexible once you adjust to it. question goofrider. (or whomever may read this) with standard automap (or "pro") one can change the mappings of the launchpad pads...

ableton thailand->
hi kids, so I'm heading to thailand for a few months, maybe longer, and it would be cool if there's an ableton thailand user group??? a kind of ICS (immersion composition society) for those who primarily use ableton live. maybe i'll set one up. btw. I encourage y'all to get over there if you can, yo...

I did two tests as I am trying out a Motu Ultralite mk3 and an RME FireFace 400. Although I am liking the sound clarity (for lack of a better term) of the RME FireFace I am surprised that its latency is typically a bit higher than the Motu. Note that my chipset on the MBP is not the problematic luce...

I use an akg headmic c420 for just laying down vocals at first then when serious I used a bluebird through a voicemaster pro because blue mic had developed the bluebird to work well specifically with the voicemaster (spoke with blue and focusrite/digidesign and bought it as a bundle). you can spend ...
