Re: Your dance floor days are numbered

It's all in your head. Just because there hasn't historically been a lot of 40+ people on the dancefloor doesn't mean that there won't be in the future. Like it or not, the rave generation is aging, and many continue to go out, and it's gonna stay that way. The parties I go to are so mixed in age an...

Re: Auto-Tune Alternative

Logic also has it's own version of an auto-tune plug bundled with it. Not bad, either.

Re: Musical Mistakes U made or What U would do different...

1. Copying other people's styles and sounds hoping that I could make them my own-- I though this was a good idea. I was wrong. Sounding like a 2nd rate someone else is embarrassing. 2. Being Lazy about putting the time in to get good-- I thought if I just did enough, I'd get good. Wrong. 3. Making m...

Re: Live >> ReWire >> Logic Pro 8

I find this setup rather pointless. Live as rewire master would make more sense, using Logic like a big virtual instrument. But unfortunately Logic can't run in slave mode. From a certain persepctive it makes perfect sense-- Live's strength as a program is audo manipulation, which is Logic's weakne...

Re: 8 bar dead end

I've run into this same problem. Here's my solution: Make several copies of each of the clips in your loop. Go into each copied clip and do some editing, you can make subtle variations or big changes, whatever appeals to you. Start mix and matching all of your clips in different combinations in a s...

Gotta give credit where credits due: I learned this from Lorin Bassnectar. It's the core of how he arranges.

Congrats on your # 666!

Re: 8 bar dead end

There are lots of ways around this. One thing I'll do is make too many parts to sound good all playing together in one loop, but make sure they all fit my core groove nicely. Then make new scenes by trying out the parts in different combos that work well together and record it in. Then, all I have t...

Funny--

if you're the one who made the demos for the GLitch Hop Samples, I think you're a better producer than the guys you're trying to emulate! Your control of the sound is excellent!
