Re: anyone running a 1.2ghz ibook g4 w/ live?

how is it working for you, I can buy one now for 400 dollars and am curious if it can hang. ive made decent tracks on a g4 1.5 pbook so i don't think an ibook 1.2 would be too far off, especially with live 6's deep freezing.. but im really replying because i want to know where you got your signatur...

supatrigga can do it. i can't seem to get this to work the way I want, im wondering if its possible. For instance on a PC I just mapped the Global Tape Stop effect to a midi button on my controller , and just hit the button whenever i want to trigger the tape stop slow effect. So far on supatrigger...

Tape Stop / Record Stop effect for Mac

Does anyone know of a tape stop effect audio unit/vst for Mac? Something similiar to the effect achieved with the tape stop on dBlue's (pc only  ) Glitch plug-in.

To summarize: USB2 bad. Firewire better. why? From what I've read the thoroughput for USB 2.0 just isn't consistent like Firewire is. Which is why you'll see Firewire 400 drives outperform USB 2.0 drives even though USB 2.0 is rated at a higher 480 Mb/s. That inconsistency would effect audio streams.

Re: when playing live, you ever notice..

people get excited at the stupidest stuff, like tonight I was playing with my kaoss pad and I was sampling on the fly some of the vocal tracks and then when there was a gap in the singing I would click the little sample buttons in a semi rhythmic fashion and everyone was like "oh my god! woooo...

No problem, I think thats the way to go too. I have a 7200rpm Fw800 external and it's given me great results.

Re: USB Flash drive as working drive and decoding cache?

Chaps, is that a good idea and if not, why? Are USB Flash drives (8GB would be enough for me) faster than a hard drive 7200rpm? Let's just say backup/reliability isn't the issue here. Just on a performance level. Basically, what if I bought a USB flash drive (say Sony Vault or Sandisk) and chucked:...

Bassline works on my Powerbook, bassline pro murdered it, it's not very CPU friendly.

If it's just pure 303 you're after you really can't go wrong with Bassline.
