Depending on the quality of condenser, I would think they'd be able to take the SPL. Like any good drum mic would. I know the Sennheiser MKH series can take a lot. But, I've never recorded a gong before. Wow. Dynamic and frequency range. Sounds like fun! Good luck. Definitely wouldn't use a ribbon. ...

many times, you'll have to adjust the results of Live's auto-warp, which usually means resetting the 1.1.1 downbeat. for stuff with strong beats for auto-warp to detect, this is probably all you'll need to do. for further adjustment, you can right-click on the 1.1.1 marker and try a number of option...

Im trying to change my kicks and snares to Mono like you're supposed to! I have no returns running back to stereo. Not fimiliar with this function in ableton compared to the other daw's. are you sending the same track to any fx returns? a stereo return might be masking what the Utility device is doing.
