Re: should i opt for passive or active monitors?
I went with bryston because they were powering all the small speaks in just about every studio it seemed. Class ‘A’ circuitry I believe. No research, just went with them, but it’s never gone down and I use to bounce it all around town with no case. I would love to get into some old MacIntosh power a...

Re: should i opt for passive or active monitors?
300£ is really great. I'd buy those and replace the speaks. Then they're brand new. Cost me 1,900usd new, a long time ago. Btw i'm certain minus 18 is rms and the minus 6 is peak. Those dudes were ref'ing two different meters in their suggestions. So many things go into an awesome amp. Lots to go in...

Re: should i opt for passive or active monitors?
Passive is best. It's the power. Ya just get a whole bunch more. Like, whatever you want. You also don't get protection circuitry that is very annoying in actives. You also get to try dif amps. Who doesn't like that? Actives are really great if ya take it easy on the throttle, and are mobile of cour...

Lorde vs F. Apple ? ....No contest by a huge margin. Even lyrics alone- http://www.azlyrics.com/l/lorde.html _and_ http://www.azlyrics.com/a/apple.html Not to mention production value and heart. Hardly do I ever disagree with you, but on this one I do. Royals VS all of Fiona Apples music I think is...

Lorde has got no depth.
I hear decent sounds, beats and lyrics, but there's nothing there.
