Re: Should I upgrade from Live 8 to 9?
So apart from the browser everyone seems pretty happy about Live 9 I guess.
I went ahead and upgraded and I really like it so far.
Love the integrated spectrum in EQ8 and the graph in Compressor. Feels like Ableton and Fabfilter had beautiful babies. Also, I'm a huge fan of The Glue. Multimonitor ...

Too bad. That's one of the features I really like about Maschine, makes you discover rhythms easily.
I guess you could always put it into a separate MIDI track and adjust the start point, though

Should I upgrade from Live 8 to 9?
I've been using Live 8 since it was released and I can't say I miss anything.
It's not officially supported on OS X 10.10 but it's working pretty fine for me.
I guess I would like the new EQ & Glue compressor, but I'm afraid my productivity will take a hit with the new library and whatnot.

Making Me Deeper (Deep House/Garage)
Hey guys,
just finished a new track and I'm pretty happy with it!
Be sure to check it out if you're into the deep-chords-and-groovy-drums type of house.
Simply Live 8 & Zebra 2. Bonus points to you if you can spot the sample
Enjoy!

Re: 64 Rotary/Push encoders in 8x8 grid
I'd imagine getting a small case for them could work. 800 bucks is a lot of cash but I'm not sure you would be getting what you wanted for much less money.
Maybe you can find something on http://lividinstruments.com/index.php?

It's your lucky day!
djtechtools announced the Midi Figther Twister, which would be what you are looking for.
You'd need 4 of them of course.

Re: Auto filter Hz range
Sounds like filter resonance to me. Adjust Q to taste or use EQ for more control over the sound.

Re: using repitch mode with simple delay; sync rather than time
You could do the following:
1. Set project tempo to something nice and round (e.g. 120 bpm)
2. Automate the time parameter to the right values (e.g. using http://www.thewhippinpost.co.uk/tools/delay-time-calculator.htm )
3. Freeze the track and copy the audio. As long as the clip is warped, the ...

This doesn't look good... Try reflashing the firmware and updating the drivers

What a nice setup you got there!
How do you like Tempest? I heard the software wasn't really finished upon release, has it improved?

2-hour warmup I did last week in a local club (Deep/Tech)
Hey guys,
I decided to record my last gig and it turned out pretty nice!
Deep house mostly, getting more Techy towards the end.
Enjoy! http://soundcloud.com/2bemusic/warmup-stilvoll (download enabled)

Re: basic compressor question
I wouldn't rely on the UI, especially with such a sensitive task as compressing where you actually make things sound worse and not even notice it if you don't A/B after every change. Close your eyes and listen!
