Re: multi channel mixes

You're right, Live can't do that type of routing. Unless you use it with a third party app like Soundflower. The only downside is Soundflower is a tedious, buggy freeware app.

Re: LAN Synchronization of several Ableton Live Instances

In addition to such a LAN capability you just described, I think it would be great if Ableton could come up with a LAN distributed processing feature a' la Logic Node. What you're describing sounds a lot like Steinberg VST System Link, which I think is an awesome and sorely lacking feature for a liv...

Re: multi channel mixes

I'm pretty sure what you're describing is already possible in Live. Go to page 190 of the Live User Manual, and see if section 14.3 "Group Tracks" is what you had in mind.

Re: 64 bit Native Support - Ableton Unable To?

I have a 2010 Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Ableton doesn't like my setup at all. As soon as I get into a creative groove, I click something I shouldn't have, and Ableton crashes. At this point I've started using Logic Pro. I held out for a long time, but I'm tired of being disappointed. ...

Re: 64 bit

Same here,
I'm using a Core i7 MacBook Pro, and I won't upgrade until Live gets a clue and releases a 64 bit version. Even using the simplest functions make it crash.

Re: Fan runs a lot on MacBook

Another issue which affects your machine is the fact that Live is currently a 32 bit application. As such, when running a C2Duo machine, a 32 bit application will not be able to use your 64 bit system's resources to their full potential. I'm using a core i7 macbook pro, and one simple instance of mo...

64 bit native Ableton Live?

For those of us who have invested in new Intel Core i5/i7 machines running Snow Leopard (can't speak to Windows 7), we all know Live is a lot less reliable than in other version of OS X. THROW US A BONE ABLETON! Ableton Live on OS 10.6 for me is unusable. Live runs like a dream on my Powermac G4, so...

Re: Snow Leopard: Who has upgraded, how did it go - recommended?

Snow Leopard is ok as long as you're running Live 8. If you're like me and still running Live 6 (unemployed, broke) and decide to buy a 2010 MacBook Pro i7 (hence the brokeness) you will have nothing but problems. Before anyone tells me "well Live 6 was made for the OS X version released at that...
