Re: Maschine Expansions

I have the Halcyon Sky & Marble Rims. Both are awesome. Not so much into the trance/harder techno sounds. I like to limit all my sounds in general as well, too many options for me is not good. I love the way the expansion packs are integrated into Maschine.

Re: Problem Controlling Reverb

As for your other question, I simply have not trained myself with using sends and returns. It seems that it is something I will have to learn ASAP. It's dead easy. Just slap the reverbs you want on some return tracks and adjust sends to taste. Use automation to make it work in arrangement. One more...

Will still be using Live for the full arrangements but want to do everything sample based in Maschine. Did you get the bundle with Komplete 9? I didnt. Bought it used and it includes Komplete Elements...

Re: Griz/Gramatik Bass synthesis

there's a plethora of tutorials on youtube about making phat bass lines in ableton. I would just watch one a day - and then try out that technique. Do 4 or 5 and you'll start to get a good idea of how to do it.

Re: About Compression and Kick Drum layering

IMO there is not magic formula to this. It takes tweaking and tweaking until your ears tell you its right. Experiment with differnt eq and compressor settings. Add a spectrum analysis so you can see where your sounds are hitting. Wish I had a better answer. I'm still struggling with this, still can'...

Re: Best workflow for editing audio sample externally

I have been using Amadeus for years as my basic sample editor. I also use it to rip my vinyl for DJ'ing in Traktor. It was like 30 bucks or so in 2007 when I bought it, not sure how much it costs now. I love that program.
