Re: BEST CHOICE - i7 8700K or i7 7820X ?
Reviews and rumblings suggest the X299 architecture suffers with regards to latency compared to the "classic" ring bus architecture of Intels mainstream CPUs. Considering how poorly Live makes use of 4 cores let alone more, I'm not sure a 7820X would get you much more performance over an 8...

Re: Am I The Only One Not Impressed?
Live GUI is a piece of Art. Leave it alone. I wouldn't say it is perfect, but it does really seem that Ableton have achieved a hi-DPI scaleable UI overhaul (and my goodness I've been waiting YEARS for this) without compromising the look, feel and identity of Live. 32" 4K monitor + 200% UI zoom...

Has MIDI latency when playing into a MIDI track with monitoring set to IN or AUTO been fixed yet?
I haven't bothered to upgrade to 9 because of this.

Crum and Theo, thank you! I will give this a try. Though I doubt it'll help much to keep my ESX in sync... fickle thing.

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
Now that some people have beta access, I'd like to put this related question out there: Has the MIDI "delay" that occurs when using a MIDI channel with monitoring set to IN or AUTO been fixed? that's a different issue and not a bug. set midi in to OFF when using the delay compensation. se...

Re: L9: Mapping a MIDI note range to a MIDI clip: Still broken ?
I'm more interested to know if MIDI timing is still "broken" (specifically: there is severe latency) whilst using AUTO or IN monitoring options during record. Live 9 holds no interest to me unless the MIDI timing has been fixed. For years I've not been able to play VSTs in real time "...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?
How about the noticeable delay when recording MIDI using IN / AUTO monitoring modes?? This has been an issue for years that I absolutely must have a fix for, otherwise I'm seriously thinking of investing in Reaper or Bitwig.

Re: Seen the front page? Live 9 is here :o
Going through the feature list now. The one single most significant improvement that I would need from Live is "fixed" MIDI latency when monitoring and recording it. Has this issue been fixed? It still isn't possible to accurately (or at least reasonably accurately) record MIDI and audio w...

Re: running windows 7 on macbook pro
I'm running an MBP from 2009, C2D 2.4GHz + Geforce 8600M GT. Windows 7 works very well indeed, though I did also install a Western Digital "Black" 500GB hard disk, which at 7200rpm does really help to make this ageing comp feel faster. The only issue I had was that I couldn't install Win7 ...

Re: Getting Ableton To Work on a Lion Hackintosh
Just want to throw this out for what it's worth: I have a MBP running OSX and Win7, as well as a main workstation with Win7, and have good luck with Ableton on both computers. Considering the somewhat pathetic updates Apple have made to the Mac Pros just recently, I can think of many good reasons to...
