Re: Operator LFO rate?

Hi,

There's a place you can see the value, in the status bar at the very bottom of the user interface. It's only visible while the mouse pointer is over the rate knob.

best regards,

Re: L9 Overdub's workflow is a show killer for several users

Hi,

Please check 9.0.3b2, we've added a preference, which you can also switch it he record button context menu: it reverts the shift click and regular click behavior of both record buttons at once.

Kind regards,

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

Actually, if, say, you install the Live 9 Session Drums pack and open a song you made in Live 8, using the Live 8 Library Session Drums, Live will first look for the Live 8 Library, but if the corresponding sample is not found there, it will look for the equivalent sample in the Live 9 pack, withou...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

i tested the feasibility of migrating the old library into the new by re-installing an older live pack (sonica taiko). it's about 1gb in size and just the install process took 15-20 minutes. old sets have no way of finding the new sample paths, so either i keep the old live 8 library intact (duplic...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

We first are optimizing the indexer performance because that is a pre-requisite, we'll then look at optimizing the interaction between the browser and the indexer somewhat similar to what you describe. Kind regards, Amaury So i guess that means to make indexing a (switchable) option is a "no o...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

Amaury: We don't need a 'don't scan this folder' feature. We don't need faster indexing. We need a general "Switch indexing off" feature. As long as this isn't acknowledged by Ableton, everything else doesn't make sense. Right, but as he pointed out, they've 'thrown out the baby with the ...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

... So would something like what others have suggested not be possible, the solution where at least in the places section you could immediately show all files but continue indexing them in the background to show up in the browser and searches? That way you get the best of both worlds, the user does...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

... Nice to hear that you guys are investigating the problem. Instead of a "scan/dont scan" on each folder, I could imagine that two different sections "Places (indexed)" and "Places (browsing)" could do the trick, so the user has the choice to place the folder where h...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

Hi, To answer a few questions from this thread: - Offering a 'don't scan this folder' feature is not simple and not a quick fix. The browser is build to display data from a database, only. We can imagine a way to display data from the file system only, but this has to be considered as a feature of i...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!

- The Indexer may take way too much CPU, which may cause dropouts. On Windows, as far as I can tell, the CPU usage of the Indexer is not impeding music making. That is pretty wrong : yes it runs in the background and do not impact on realtime audio process (by chance), BUT you *need* to scan you wh...
