I'm a modulation wheel fiend. but, despite the blinking in the midi box saying it senses the modulation wheel, when i try to make it control something it doesn't register. Do i have to change something in the keyboard? don't get it.

Hardware synths and Live is a great way to go because you can save some CPU. Although with the Simpler, I find that I don't really need to use Hardware most of the time.

Cubase is good if you're layering a bunch of audio tracks. I've done a few 3 minute tracks in Live with only 3 audio tracks and 3 midi tracks and once I added effects I was maxing out the program. Yea, FCB1010 is the way to go. Cheap and when it finally clicks, easy to program. I know i was one of the culprits who just couldn't figure the thing out. Once you understand all the aspects of what MIDI is and does the thing is a synch to program.
