Re: So... who has the push?
I borrowed one for a weekend. It was really fun. It offers a whole new way to approach Live. The amount of control you achieve without touching the computer is impressive. I miss having it on my desk. When the stock issues are sorted out, I'll likely buy one.

I'm glad you liked the article. I put a lot of work into that one.

Re: How to Best Position Studio Equipment in a New Room
Here's an article I wrote on the topic: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/indepth/audio/tips-solutions/holiday-2012-how-set-room-recording-and-mixing Just this past weekend I rebuilt my setup, and I wired my studio to be as child-proof as possible. I have a nine-month-old, we live in a two bedroom apartme...

Re: RME or MOTU
Nice old thread... Personally, I would choose the RME. It's certainly not a perfect interface... no bus power, no dedicated headphone volume control, no dedicated gain knobs. I'm not crazy about Total Mix. But, if you listened to them side by side, the RME would likely sound better. That wins in my ...

Another compact and budget-friendly option is the Tascam DR-05.

Lightroom 4 seems like the better option.

Re: Thunderbolt stuff
No cheep Thunderbolt audio interfaces on the horizon that I know of. You could always get the Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter ($30 USD) and put the port to use with an external drive or a FireWire interface.

Re: One of my songs on a Google ad
Great music, as usual.
Now that you've got a successful Google campaign under your belt, you can seriously charge 100 times more next time around. Brands pay big bucks to use music like this. You should get what you're worth.

Re: Need expert advice on audio interface.....
I hear a noticable improvement in sound quality with RME and Apogee audio interfaces, but your Pioneer DDJ-T1 should be more than adequate for your needs. If you had been using an RME or an Apogee interface all along, chances are that your tracks would still be suffering from the same problems. That...

Re: New look Ableton website.
I will say this. The aspect that I appreciate about the new design is that by mainly showing people's desks, the scale becomes very human. Instead of mystifying the software with a bunch of bullshit, they're just showing people's workstations. They're saying, look, here it is, this is what this is. ...

So this looks fine to people then? https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/ Amazing. What's wrong with really, really wide drop down menus, Angstrom? This page looks the worst on my machine: https://www.ableton.com/en/live/feature-comparison/ If you scroll down, the table is invisible and unformatt...

Re: New look Ableton website.
I thought they nicked the forum for a minute. The only way I can get here is by Googling "Ableton Forum." My old bookmarks have been axed. My work computer is XP with IE, and, in a word, ableton.com looks... challeneged. It looks way better on my iPhone. This is going to take some getting ...

Re: Screenshots of Live 9
Considering that the killed off Compressor I and Compressor II to make Compressor, it's surprising to see a new Compressor added in. A move away from minimalism on Ableton's part. Interesting.
Anyhow, this is good stuff. The new EQ8 looks super useful. I'm excited for more unknown goodies!

Re: The non-Apple gadget thread
The Nokia Lumia 920 looks pretty cool. However, severe iPhone withdrawl would kick in if I were forced to use one of these for mare than a day.
