VST like Kaossilator?

Hey everyone, Is there a VST or utlity in ableton that achieves the same effect as the Flex PLay feature on the iKaossilator? For those of who are not familiar, when you swipe your finger in the x-axis it changes the length of the bar and the y-axis changes the tempo. This is used for climatic break...

Re: finally u can sound like flying lotus!!!

All you need to do to sound like flylo is put a lot of off-beat annoying ass percussion loops in your music then put down a hip-hop beat and use the groove pool on it and increase the percentage so much that the beat is barely even rhythmic. Then you'll start sounding close to flying lotus.

Re: drop outs when triggering clips

Yeah that's what I figured. I've got a Seagate Momentus XT hyrbrid drive and that shit still gives me the hard=drive button. But it only does it when I have say a clip that i've warped and I didn't crop the rest of the song out. I.E. I'm only using 30 seconds of a 5 minute song so when I delete the ...

Re: drop outs when triggering clips

Before you trigger the clip be sure to look at the upper right section by your cpu percentage meter and you will see an icon with the letter "D". If this button lights up as you trigger the clip which results in the clip not playing back on time whenever you hit play then that means that y...

Re: How To Do Spectral Morphing

Yeah, I think Glitchrock and Luddy have really summed it. The spectral analyser (from my understanding) should find the harmonic frequencies inside a sound, and manipulate those to change the pitch of the note played. The concept sounds simple. It sounds very much like the idea behind vocoders. But...

oddstep wrote:resampling as well. so you've got a bit of complex highly automated basswarp. freeze it to audio and use that as a wav in sampler. nice for retriggering and edits/cuts.
This works really well too. Also you can make extensive use of side-chaining instruments.

Re: DJing & Improvising 2 Ableton Songs

You can watch Tom Cosm's videos on how to set up a set with all of your song's in one file with all of the different clips. It does include an extensive setup of scenes in the session view as everyone has mentioned here but I think once you see how he does it then you'll

Re: Microedits and rythmic presicion in Ableton. Skrillex etc

I've posted several threads on this subject and no one answers. Seems like people are more interested on speculating the release of Live 9 and whether it will support 64-bit  But to address your question I think it is a combination of layered basses with certain frequencies sculpted out to ach...

Advanced Bass Techniques

Hello friends, I had an inquiry on what kind of techniques you guys recommend for advanced bass and rhythm techniques present in genres like glitch, dub, electro, etc... To me it sounds like A LOT of automation on the arpeggiator's settings on the channel and obviously the settings on the synth itse...

Hey guys, do you participate or know of any good sites for artist collaboration? I know we've got the post your music forum here but I was wondering if there were any serious web-sites any of you like to use for collaboration. Re: Izotope StutterEdit: How do you make use of it?

Place it on your master out or on a bus mix. Control it from an armed midi channel Customize each preset or roll your own and save Control live using midi controller or keyboard. wash. rinse. (beat)repeat. Well I was more interested in what types of audio people have found to have the most interest...
