I'm starting to experiment with this myself. I was just reading about warp master/slave (page 114 of the english manual). Using a clip in arrangement view, you have the option of using the beat information of that clip as the master clock for all other clips. So I'll try recording a loop here, and s...

Your blazing new fast GPU could throw some heat on your CPU, even enough to cause your power management to kick in and slow your CPU down. That's one way to raise CPU% without running more VSTs :) But, as long as your GPU has dedicated video memory, and doesn't slam your system bus, then just *havin...

Absolutely not. The TCP stacks in computers are well tuned. Networks run everywhere. At MIDI speeds, it takes a MINIMUM of 1ms to send a single note on messege. That's because MIDI runs at 31.125kbps, while the slowest ethernet currently runs at 10Mbps (300 times faster). However, the most latency c...

If you go through the lesson on remote controls, at the end is a map of exactly what's mapped. If you compare it to a Mackie or Axiom, the TF doesn't get much in terms of control. No banks of knobs (the others get up to 8 or 9 virtual banks of 8 knobs). However, if you look at the directory live\res...

Trigger Finger Patch to use for this feature
For the Trigger Finger, use the default "GM Percussion" patch for the TF. This gives master volume (1st slider) and the "best-of-bank" control via knobs (see last 3 pages of control surface lesson for device mappings). All other controllers (pads & sliders) are left for manua...

What I really hope to see - and I don't think it should just be Ab. who collaborates on this - is some standards that MIDI controllers and software use to talk to each other with. It could even use the standard MIDI protocol since it is already ubiquitous (notes, CCs, program change, sysex, etc...)...

MIDIYoke
If you can send the MIDI out to an external device, you can consider installing MIDIYoke. It's free, and acts like a virtual MIDI hub in software. 8 ports are available, so after installing, set the output cahnnel to MIDIYoke Port 1 (for example), then create a second track in Live that uses MIDIYok...
