Ableton 8.1.4, 32 bit vista on a Dual Core 2.2Ghz Asus laptop with 4 Gig ram and an Echo Indigo I/Ox
Well I discovered the "display zoom" preference - great idea! - I have a little laptop screen and also a big screen at home so I can adjust for either...
BUT it makes the audio glitch very badly ...

HEY!?? Render ignores one midi transpose, but not the other.
PC with Ableton 8.1.4 and Reason 3.0.4
I just rendered a backing track for my band:
Two ableton midi tracks routed to: A Reason Piano (and back to an ableton audio track of course), and a VST plugin Hammond instrument.
After playing the parts in, I decided to transpose piano and hammond up 1 tone ...

Re: Vista + Suite 8 + Reason 3 = INSTANT CRASH!
FIxed!
I haven't had time to give reason a full rewire workout, but its not crashing on start up now.
Nico recommended a second propheads/vista link that I hadn't discovered, and it seems to have done the trick!
Love your work, gentlemen....

Re: Vista + Suite 8 + Reason 3 = INSTANT CRASH!
why?GET RID OF VISTA!!
get windows 7 if your gonna use a PC
Treestepper, have you had the same issues with reason 3, live 8 and vista and had them run fine when you changed op systems?
Actually I was planning to upgrade to 64 bit win7 as soon as Ableton brought out a 64 bit version...

Re: Vista + Suite 8 + Reason 3 = INSTANT CRASH!
thanks Jörg,
I've already tried that, but I ran it again, and still no luck.
I've also posted at the Reason forum, but also no solutions...
I ran reason with live 4 and then 6 for several years on my old laptop running XP with no problems at all.
Frustrating.

Vista + Suite 8 + Reason 3 = INSTANT CRASH!
Well I mentioned this problem in a topic last week and I've submitted a bug report, but I thought I'd put the problem in its own topic and see if anyone else out there has come across it, and maybe a solution!...

Re: slow and glitchy...
The powerboard was an old one and I guess the contacts in it were bent or worn - I plugged a lamp in and had to wiggle the plug to make the light come on. The other three points on the board seemed fine, but I chucked it out anyway. The laptop charger itself is fine.

Re: slow and glitchy...
aw shucks...
Have reset all the battery profiles etc now too, for performance over battery life.... In that power saving mode, Ableton would barely run the two track part of the performance test with 80% CPU! Definitely not what you want if the stage power is a bit dodgey at a gig. I should have ...

Re: slow and glitchy...
Found it!... I think.
A faulty mains power board, believe it or not! I didn't notice it was puting the laptop in and out of battery mode which was on a power save/low CPU setting... My old machine used to beep loudly when you plugged in or unplugged the charger...
I feel a bit silly, but quite ...

Re: slow and glitchy...
have uninstalled live 8.0.3, echo indigo DJ IOx, reason 3.0.4.
have re-installed: Live 8.0.4b, echo drivers, reason, plus the rewire patch from the propellerheads site.
have also fiddled endlessly with audio settings, restarted etc etc
SAME PROBLEMS!
Reason runs fine on its own - many tracks ...

Re: slow and glitchy...
yeah.
but there's something wrong. Ableton crashes as soon as I open Reason. (Which runs fine on its own.)
I have the latest versions and drivers...
Frustrating.
