Overdub notes in Session View

Hi all, Looking for help here. I work mostly in Session View, and I like to be able to record a few different clips with midi controller, and then go back to previous clips and add some notes - for instance, play a kick on one track, do a bunch of other stuff, and then go back and play some hats ove...

Automatically apply grooves

Does anyone know if its possible to automatically apply groove templates to clips that you've recorded?

Otherwise, it's not much good for playing live, as you have to select clips and manually add the groove template every time you record something new, and there just isn't time.

Re: Launchpad95: Instrument, Scales, Step Sequencer, Device Ctrl

I can confirm Launchpad95 working on Live10, it's great!

one small bug - quite often the track stop buttons stop working in Session mode. They're enabled in the settings file, and work fine for a while, then stop working halfway through a set. I haven't figured out what makes this happen, though.

Re: Launchpad95: Instrument, Scales, Step Sequencer, Device Ctrl

Also, I'd like to modify the script so the last row of pads in session view work as clip stops - can anyone point me in the right direction? (I'm doing this because in big sets, with lots of armed tracks, it gets horrible not having dedicated buttons - I end up making empty clips all over the place...

Re: Launchpad95: Instrument, Scales, Step Sequencer, Device Ctrl

(Edited to start with:) This is a fantastic piece of work, thank you! I'm having some confusion with the Drum Sequencer multi-note mode. I can't seem to get it to put notes in the right place - they end up either in the 5th or 9th bar of the clip. I've tried pressing *all* the buttons :( I suspect I...

Got a workaround! Switching off the signal (deactivating the live.remote~) before setting the mapping ranges sets them correctly.

Using signals to control rack parameters ignores mappings

I've found a strange bug in Instrument Racks. I assign a control on the device to a macro knob, and set the max/min values If I control the macro knob using a live.observer, sending out messages, it works correctly. If I control it using a live.remote~, then * the display for both the parameter and ...

Re: Monitoring all midi notes

Actually, that's totally sorted me out, thanks! No M4L needed, and I've got the lights blinking happily. I keep forgetting that there's all the backwards routing where you can pull signals in from other places. Now, if only QuNeo pad leds responded to the same notes they send out :? Looks like M4L i...

Monitoring all midi notes

I want a visual indication of all the notes that are being played, so I can make my QuNeo light up, to help with harmonisation. I'd like to monitor midi notes being played from clips on several tracks, ideally without putting a device on each track - is there any way to do that? I was hoping there's...

Re: Stop filtering repeated CCs in midi for M4L

Ah, great! I'd been playing with mxj as a way to do that, but it felt a bit ugly (although probably it's no worse than going via Live in the first place). If there's a nice stable external to do this, I'll give it a go! (but of course, it would be nice if it got fixed in Live too...) EDIT: Just trie...

Stop filtering repeated CCs in midi for M4L

I'm making some control devices in M4L to interface my Faderfox to Live. The Faderfox uses inc/dec CC messages (e.g. 1,2 for +1,+2, 127,126 for -1,-2) on some of its controls. Live understands these fine when mapped to faders etc. I'd like to use them in M4L. Unfortunately, Live filters out repeated...

Loading instruments/devices

It appears that I can't use Max4Live to load devices or instruments into tracks. Is that correct?

Re: Drag in clips and replace instruments

Yeah, that's the problem - it means that I have to:\ * keep a library of the instruments that I'm using on clips (and make sure they're up to date) * remember which is which * pull in clips * then pull in the instrument It's just a lot of work, for something where it already has the instrument as pa...
