Re: Ableton FX on hardware synths - required audio interface?
Thanks @yur2die4 I thought that was the case but very helpful to have it confirmed. Just trying to make sure I don't end up buying the wrong thing (and having yet another "gadget" gathering dust!)

Re: Ableton FX on hardware synths - required audio interface?
Thanks Mark. Am I right in thinking this one would allow me to input 4 synths? The synths I'm interested in are mono BTW https://www.andertons.co.uk/focusrite-scarlett-4i4 Thank you, this is such a help to me. The 4i4 is 4 inputs yes, you can get 2i2 which is 2 inputs, but in my opinion, its worth ...

Re: Ableton FX on hardware synths - required audio interface?
Hi Schlam, thanks for your answer. It really helps me. Would something like this do? It has more inputs than I need, but that could be good for the future. But these look like the wrong kinds of inputs? https://www.amazon.co.uk/behringer-UMC-404HD-Behringer-Interface/dp/B00TTX73YA/ref=sr_1_20?crid=G...

Ableton FX on hardware synths - required audio interface?
In the near future I want to buy and jam on hardware synths (TD3, Crave, etc), using Ableton only for: Adding FX to the individual synths (e.g. distortion to TD3, chorus to Crave) Compression to master output Triggering drum loop samples from inside Ableton itself I'm happy using the synths' interna...

Re: How to change devices quicker?
OK! I've been toying with the idea of getting a Launch Control XL for selecting tracks and having more knobs. Anyone know if this would work with Push. More specifically, if I changed a parameter on the Launch Control XL (like selecting a track) would that change the track selected on Push?TomViolenz wrote:no

How to change devices quicker?
I'm in device mode on "Track 1" tweaking Freq on Operator. I then want to tweak Freq on Analog on "Track 2". As far as I know I have to press "Track", press the button for the appropriate track, then press device (and then repeat if I want to go back to the original dev...

Good videos, thanks for posting. It's so easy to get dragged into all the technology and "how to" and get distracted from creativity. Thought-provoking stuff.

Re: Finishing tracks: Something that helped me
Its a great idea for getting things down i did a similar thing where i told myself i had only an hour to start a track and export it. It helped me get over the "it has to be perfect thing" that is still there but i don't seem to be as precious now. :) Absolutely same for me. Perfection wa...

Finishing tracks: Something that helped me
I watched this video on TED that presents a very simple, but I think, powerful idea: https://www.ted.com/talks/matt_cutts_try_something_new_for_30_days The idea is you commit to trying something new for 30 days. Seeing as I have finished about 3 tracks in 7 years of on/off music making, I thought I ...

Re: Multi-channel spectrum analyzer.
FWIW, you can use multiple Spectrum devices to see multiple channels with a little trick I learned from another post on this forum. I made a dummy audio track and put two spectrum devices in the chain. In front of each Spectrum I put a Compressor with Sidechain turned on and the Audio From set to t...
