Hi all,
I'm playing a lot of violin pieces in ableton using MIDI files. I'd like to alter the attack based on the length of the note; i.e. there's a very quick attack for short notes in quick succession, and a slow attack for long notes.
Anyone have any ideas/tips/tricks?
thanks!!

Re: The Definitive Guide to Programming the FCB1010 for Live
So, having now spent forever reading through this thread, I'm not much wiser... can someone please tell me whether the FCB1010 can send cc's to ableton to toggle things on/off using just one preset? it seems no-one has a solution so far. I'm resorting to giving each switch in every bank a unique not...

Re: Recording internal audio
use a mic.. 8) i'd rather not lose any quality of the audio stream well you shouldn't use that streamer then.. mp3 is a "lossy" format yeah, you're right. silly me. i'll be better off using a mic to record the lossy mp3 over its internal speaker so i also get the benefit of the awesome co...

Re: Recording internal audio
That's really excellent Itackett - soundflower looks especially good.
Anyone know of a similar program for PC? I'd like to stay away from the solution of downloading youtube videos as that method wouldn't work for other applications I'd like to record the audio from.

Recording internal audio
Hi guys, I'd like to record the audio in ableton from applications such as chrome or firefox, for example when I hear a great sound I'd like to sample on YouTube. I have an audio setup at home using an audio interface, so I plug a cable from my computer headphone jack into my interface, and that wor...

Re: Why does firewire Edirol Fa-101 suck compared to Tascam-122?
Specs are: - Dell XPS M1710 laptop - Dual core 2GHz, 2GB RAM, Win XP sp2, 7,200 RPM hard disk. Edirol is connected with 4-pin firewire. I've enabled 'background services' under processor scheduling, set hardware acceleration to zero, and made sure that the sample rate is at 44.1 in both the hardware...

Why does firewire Edirol Fa-101 suck compared to Tascam-122?
I used a Tascam US-122 to play audio and midi into live suite 8, which had big drawbacks due to there only being 2 inputs. Using a mini mixer I put loads more instruments into live so I could play gigs with a laptop, but that wasn't ideal. So I got an Edirol Fa-101, a firewire interface rather than ...

Re: Vary tempo with imported track
ok, the detective work wasn't really necessary! all i had to do was click (in session view, in the clip sample properties, under where it says 'warp') on where it says 'slave' so it changes to 'master', and the song tempo, including the metronome click, follows the imported sample perfectly. having ...

Vary tempo with imported track
Is it possible to have the tempo vary, using an imported song as the tempo master? This way I'd have midi and other things line up in the proper place when we've recorded music in a studio that was free time (not to a click) and imported that track.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

audio recording lag
when i record an audio loop into live suite 8 using my laptop and usb audio interface, there's a lag of around 51 ms (i used the method of connecting the output to the input and recording the metronome, then seeing the distance between the start of the beat and the start of the waveform. what it the...

Pitch-shift live - transpose audio during a live gig: how??
Is it possible to transpose audio live, so that (for example) a singer sings into a microphone during a gig, which goes through a laptop running ableton suite 8, and the output to the speakers is transposed down an octave so she sounds like a man? (or a man sounds like a man with a deeper voice?) an...
