Ugh. I can try to talk to my landlord but he is a total prick. Can you tell me exactly why its dangerous, that will help.
For the time being, will one of those ground loop isolators fix my sound?

Re: Bad static coming from monitors...
Im using an audio interface. Do you really think it could be the dimmer switch? Unfortunately the room is set up in such a way that the dimmer that controls the lights also controls ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL CURRENT IN THE ROOM. How dumb is that? I can't even charge my phone at night. Anyway, will that ...

Re: Bad static coming from monitors...
What exactly is the function of a ground loop isolator?
Does it have something to do with the other current running through the room? I did just move into a new apartment and this one has 5 recessed lights on a dimmer switch in the ceiling rather than just a big lamp in a far corner...

Bad static coming from monitors...
Sometime in the past few days my monitors became extremely static-y. The music coming out of them sounds like shit, and when no music is on I can still here a lot of static white noise. Both speakers have this problem, so I don't think I blew one of them out or anything. Could it be the chords? I ha...

I want to invest in a hardware drum machine
Any recommendations?

Why is ableton's output so quiet??
I don't think it was always like this...I recall being able to have my volume knob around half and the sound would be nice and loud. Now I have to crank it up to like 9/10 just to get a decent volume. I played a gig a couple nights ago and my output was so low I had to put a limiter and compression ...

Re: How many of you use VST's?
Its up to you. I personally prefer VST's to manipulating samples, and I'm sure my style of music reflects that. Maybe the music you write works better the way your doing it (if you don't notice a definite lack of VST than it probably does).

Re: Got a gig....what does this mean?
^ maybe you should get humble?? his point about how you ask questions here to find out what you don't know and then go on to insult everyone who is answering them by calling them/us a bunch of nerds, geeks, losers, what ever word you used... yeah, he's calling you out. you could retract the stateme...
