More options for BPM * and / in warped clips
I'd love the option, when djing with Ableton, to multiply the bpm of a clip by, for example, 3/4 or 4/3, or some custom fraction. This is possible if there's only one warp marker and the tempo is consistent - you can just use a calculator and type in a new BPM. But in a complicated or older track wi...

Re: How do you manage project switching on stage?
I have been using Ableton only & just drop everything into one file and group tracks together by song, it's like 75 tracks in 8 groups. There's sometimes a weird hiccup if switching from a lot of tracks to a lot of completely different tracks - hoping there's some trick to help with this, going ...

Novation LaunchControl as control surface in Live 8?
Hey,
does anyone know if there's a way to use the new Novation controller as a control surface in version 8? Would there need to be an update to Live to add compatability, or is it possible to edit something and add it in? Thanks!

Re: Endless time warping??
Also this is totally stupid and time-consuming, and probably only good for drums, but select part of a wave in Audacity, press z to find the zero crossings, then copy and paste, then repeat with another section. Completely ugly, DIY time stretching.

Re: Endless time warping??
Retriggering Simpler with a free arpeggiator while slowly adjusting the start point (assign both to rack macros for finer control) is basically granular synthesis. You could make multiple copies of it in a rack to trigger at more than one speed/pitch/envelope setting etc etc. Also check out Spear, n...

Re: Windows 8 Touchscreens
Glad that fix worked & thanks for your reactions! I hadn't seen any reviews of these with a cpu-hogging program other than Photoshop. Very into the idea of carrying around something lighter if I can still do somewhat complex stuff in Ableton and Bidule.

Re: Windows 8 Touchscreens
Fact of the matter is, Live sucks on Win 8 touchscreens right now. The faders seem to have some kind of bug where they will jump to any point you touch on screen, but if you try to drag, they immediately jump to max. It's weird. Did you try the fix for Wacom tablets, which have the same problem? ht...

yeah, that's kinda my sense, I should wait for next year's netbooks to catch up. I'm using the 13" 2011 model and am fine with the resolution tho.

Re: Working comfortably with a (very) large set - tips wanted.
I group tracks by song, and sort it out vertically so I use scenes to trigger the next song, which gives me a moment to open/close groups. My current live set is like 70 tracks and it takes a few minutes to load, but whatever, it's still all live. No idea how an APC works, but I use an LPD8 and usua...

Re: Switching MIDI instruments
Not sure what you mean, but I think creating or grouping to a rack would do this. You can switch by midi velocity, note number, or a slider that selects the chain.

Re: LIVE 8 PERFORMANCE TEST - Results Here
this seems like the right place to ask - has anybody gone from (or is using both) a 2011 i7 Macbook Pro to a current Macbook Air? It looks like about a 10% difference in the tests here, but I'm wondering if that works out to mean actual lags/glitches, or just that the fan turns on more often, or wha...

Re: The Little List of Tips and Tricks
If you have a bunch of copies of Operator or Simpler in a drum rack, you can change something, right-click, and "Copy value to siblings." Really helpful if you didn't think to make a macro beforehand.

Control macros with note #, velocity, envs -> racks=synths
I'd like it if I could play rack parameters the same way as synths - add some kind of keytrack or velocity track for macros, add a midi or audio triggered envelope, as well as an lfo, that could be routed to control them. It would be really great to be able to use the midi effects to control complic...

Re: Feature request: MIDI track has a fader
This seems like an issue where conflicting methods of use lead to conflicting ways a program could be designed, both equally valid, and in cases like that, I don't think complaining about support is going to help at all. No instrument is going to be perfect... However, I would suggest - use the velo...
