Re: ableton orchestral essentials

I just love the integration of Lives instruments though. Fits perfectly to my workflow and does not clutter up my screen. I am barely using any VST or AU Plugins any more. Since i am working on music that includes orchestral instruments especially strings i am interested in the OIC from Ableton and ...

Re: ableton orchestral essentials

I am pretty confused now. Was about to buy Abletons OIC spending €499,-. Now OEE from ProjectSAM shows up for €79,-. What exactly is the difference and is it really worth now going for Abletons OIC?

Re: Buying i5 Macbook Air for Ableton - Good Idea?

I have an early 13" 2011 MBP 2.3 i5. I got it instead of the air just for upgrading to Live. Honestly, I think I will sell it (the MBP) once the IvyBridge CPU's hit the airs next year. I'm curious though, for the 11" MBA, how many tracks with, say Live's reverb, can you run before it tops...

Re: Buying i5 Macbook Air for Ableton - Good Idea?

True that Ken. I was just reading an interesting review on the web. It said that the performance boost of the 11" Air from i5 to i7 would be 25%. So if you want to use it for heavy duty work such as music production it is highly recommend not to save those extra bucks. Me too, i find myself usi...

Re: Buying i5 Macbook Air for Ableton - Good Idea?

I just did a performance check. http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=111880&start=630 Runs faster than my 15" 2,66 GHz MacBook Pro 2010. I am about to sell it and buy the Apple Thunderbolt Display instead. This way I have the portability of the MacBook Air and the screen size of...

For the iPhone there is Amazing Slow Downer and Anytune available in the Appstore. Both work great.

Transfering Live from PC to Mac

I am about to receive my first Macbook Pro. Which is the best way to transfer the DAW from PC to OSX? Do I install Live from the DVD's (Live 7 including EIC and Session Drums) and download the upgrade to Live 8 for Mac from the Website? Or do I download Live 8 for Mac from the Website (program only)...

Re: running ableton on my netbook

Hm, Unfortunately I don't know too much about processors, cpu and stuff, but I run Live 8 Suite and IK Multimedia VST's on a Vaio TT which you would call a subnotebook. It only has Intel 1,2 Ghz Core 2 Duo Processor but the DAW works without me even have to tweak Windows 7. Is there a big difference...

Re: Quick Mac question

Been following this thread for a minute... I am a musician using Ableton Live Suite 8 and all of the IK Multimedia Plug-Ins to record and arrange complete songs. I am on the road a lot and 2 years ago decided to go for a small portable PC-Laptop. At that time I wasn't too much into the DAW-Thing so ...
