Warping: Tones Mode vs Texture Mode

Hi everyone I am confused about some of the terminology in the manual about the difference between Tones and Texture Warp Modes. In the manual, they describe how Tones and Texture are similar, except... In Tones Mode, the Grain Size is determined in a signal dependent manner. In Texture Mode, Grain ...

Yeah, it "magically" appears back in place of your clip. Just make sure to save your edits in Audacity first.
Thank you! That is the part I can't figure out. Every time I try and save it tells me "Save Project" is for an Audacity Project, not an audio file."
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Launch Sample Editor button

Hi everyone I am confused by the Launch Sample Editor feature. I have Audacity set up in Preferences so when I click on the Edit button in the Sample Box, it does open in Audacity and I can edit it just fine. My confusion is that the manual says "When you return to Live, the edited version of the sa...

Audio clips only contain references to samples

Hi everyone
I am confused by the concept that Audio clips only contain references to samples on disk (rather than the
audio data itself). Can anyone help me understand this or refer me to an article or website that would address this?
Thank you!

Combining uncompressed mono/stereo samples

In section 5.2 of the manual (Sample Files) it talks about Live how Live can "combine uncompressed mono or stereo samples of any length, sample rate or bit depth without prior conversion." Does anyone know what this means or where I can find information on how to figure it out?
Thank you!

Editing a referenced sample in the File Manager

Can anyone explain editing a referenced sample in the File Manager? It mentions using an external application but I don't quite get what that means, why you would need to edit a sample outside of Live or even what my options for an external application would be. Help is very much appreciated! Thank ...

Save As vs Save a Copy

Hey everyone
I am having a hard time figuring out the difference between the Save As command and the Save a Copy command. Is this a question of computer hierarchy or a question of Ableton hierarchy? Help distinguishing this would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
